Money always was. I mean not just in America: Turkey is cozying up to Russia because the US is getting tired of Turkey turning into an authoritarian state and people are starting to wonder if the US might cut off military aid one day, but Russia is willing to do business with anyone, even someone who shot down one of…
Same. I get it though: you cast a black person in the lead role, and history shows white audiences won’t show up. You cast us in a side role, and we aren’t getting the credit we deserve. You have us direct, then you are going to get a million think pieces about it and “what it means.”
Caroline Famke seems to think, in her reporting, that the studio was unaware of the allegatoins:
That is exactly what they were doing. I’ve read that Fox Searchlight bought this specifically to diversify their offerings this year, and it seems like someone just went “pick a movie with a sort of empowering message about black people” and just settled for the most morally questionable tale they could.
The timing is ENTIRELY Nate and Fox Searchlight’s fault, that is the best part. They were the ones who wanted the interview with Deadline to head off the allegations, because Fox bought the movie without knowing about them. Vox had a great take down:
“The timing.”
Right after Jezebel published the un-retouched images of Lena Dunhams magazine cover.
Millions of gun owners are safe and careful with their guns and have never and will never kill anyone. There should still be more gun control, even if only a small minority of gun owners will do something violent with the guns.
To be clear, the “mandatory euthansia/castration” you were talking about is a joke, right?
Video appears to back up what the boys said happened though:
I mean so did Kanye West so he is in good company.
Ashlee Simpson, Blink, and Evanescense were the shit in 2004. I will not apologize.
What I’m not in love with is that Kurt Metzger has become bigger than the dude who was accused of rape in the first place.
Nope. Vox has a great breakdown on this. Essentially, we keep asking Amy to be political, but her comedy has always been personal.
I think she is, but not for the reasons we are thinking. I’m going to be posting this link to Vox a lot:
Amy was NEVER ON THE FUCKING PODIUM. Vox has a great breakdown of this.
No, he is not. A fine would be paid to the judiciary: he is being made to donate to a judo school.
So I’ve never travelled before: how expensive is Rio? Did you go alone or with someone? And what did you do when you were not watching the games?
I, too, hated the round table. I hate panels, more than anything. It’s the worst part of any cable news show or even these comedy news shows. Having someone on to provide prospective or expert analysis is one thing, but having 3-4 people on to shout at each other and get words in edgewise is way, way too boring.
