Confession: When I lived in Canada, I just pushed the carts home, took them on the C-train, and abandoned them in nearby alleyways. The Canadians thought that was a bit barbaric (Amerifat here), but I lived in Calgary’s Punjabitown and my fellow immigrants seemed to think it wasn’t too weird. Not sure how I could have…
Are they sophisticated enough for condoms, though? Like, that’s some awfully precocious children.
Didn’t we have a Mary Kay Letourneau thread, like, last week?
Fucking weeaboo dudes man
Unless “discrete” is intended to mean they should separate into their own noncontinuous forms??
Yeah, a lot of this article just says “Meanwhile in New York” to me.
Yeah, I had those huge-at-the-bottom hot topic jeans in middle school, and I got this at least once I can remember. Given how horrified 13 year old boys are of homoeroticism, I’m sure that dude never catcalled again.
I think that’s pretty accurate, or it was for me as a straight boy. It was like a spirit possession; it’s this thing that just grabs hold of you and won’t let go.
Agreed. You can admire at a respectful distance without being a creep. If you have a sense that you’re making her uncomfortable, you peel your damn eyes away. You certainly don’t say lewd shit or catcall. This isn’t rocket science, but young men don’t get told this clearly or often enough.
Maybe if Makeup Alley was less moderated?
No one else seems to get that distinction. 4channers know it’s a shithole. Reddit thinks they’re actually upstanding citizens, and that’s terrifying.
Seriously, this is the kind of follow-up journalism we could use.
It’s a politeness thing. It’d be rude to straight up tell you we don’t like you. If you’re too dense to pick up on it, that’s your problem, not ours.
No.
It’s occurred to me as well, the idea that maybe she’s just a creep. People aren’t entitled to friends any more than they’re entitled to sex; this is kind of the friendship version of Niceguyism, isn’t it?
I was a semi-weird kid, and as such authority figures liked to throw me at the ones with real issues, the fetal…
I agree. Do people think kids are stupid? I wouldn’t have wanted anybody at a party of mine that didn’t want to be there.
I don’t know about Germany, but there’s plenty of stuff going on here in the US where people, particularly of the liberal variety, jump from Netanyahu’s deeply questionable policy choices to perceiving Israel as a menace (as opposed to the only reasonably democratic and functional state in the region) to general…
Speaking as a Minneapolitan, I’ve definitely heard from white girls (mostly the hipster sorts) some jealousy over the color and designs of some of the Somali coverings (huge community here). I think appropriation concerns are the only thing keeping the trend from blossoming.
