I’m pretty sure that last day happens whenever a new Halo game comes out.

I think it’s important to recognize the vastly different context of a woman wearing a headscarf in Jeddah and a woman wearing one in Ohio.

This. You wear that veil around town (or god forbid through any kind of security checkpoint) and see the looks you get. It’s the whole Black Like Me approach.

But faceless anonymity can be empowering as well. Consider protesters’ adoption of the Guy Fawkes mask. That’s largely not how it’s being used in the Middle East, but I think context needs to be considered in terms of face covering.

Yeah, I’ve got medical reasons I avoid the self-drive approach. Besides, I think traveling on the bus or train, you spend more time seeing and less time driving. And going around with the locals, I think that’s kind of a valuable experience. But you’re right that going over the border on land, your own vehicle or not,

Yeah, it’s still a mess. I totally see why people just rent motorbikes to do it themselves rather than make all the relevant transfers.

Let’s be real, Misato was best girl. Asuka>Rei though

You might need to explain this one.

Congratulations!

Speaking as a former grad student, yeah, that “trip you up” stuff is the best thing they can do for you. Try not to be a jerk about it.

It’s cool, yo. I’m 27 and I am this feel. So yeah, fuck off Brittany, at least I’m not dead.

Yeah, I feel like my first thought would be that, in the context of obvious bar flirting, he’s politely admitting that he misread the situation and withdrawing to leave your personal space intact. Doesn’t seem like he handled it all that poorly to me.

The gate agent is guarding all the doors and holding all the keys. It really pays to be polite to them.

I have a friend who’s Jewish who once had a classmate in high school ask her, in the context of summer camps and who was going where at the end of the year, “Do you guys go to a special Jew camp or something?” Apparently it was quiet for just a bit too long, the questioner blushed red with realization, and ran out of

4/10 nice try bro

My experience with tourism outside the developed world in general (not strictly speaking about hooking up with people) is that you should plan on being robbed blind by locals and consider it partial recompense for how cheap travel in the 3rd World is in the first place. Like, it’s going to happen, just budget for it.

I mostly just love them as an airline worker. Seeing it from the eyes of a tourist or a flight attendant, it’s like through the looking glass for me, man.

Maybe it’s a supply thing? There’s a ton of women in Germany, but I don’t think there are a lot of goats.

>I can tell you my gay friends (both women and men) love the islands in Greece

I feel like there’s an Isle of Lesbos joke in here but I just can’t seem to assemble it right now

I don’t think there are gentiles who regularly eat pastrami. I don’t even know what it is, really. Maybe in New York or something. Not here in the Midwest, though.
