Finally, the culmination of all the exciting plot threads! Plot threads like... uh...

Nope, it sucked. Even the extended ending was still bad.

It did ambiguity badly. It also shoehorned in a revelation and debate “AI and biologicals can’t co-exist” that you could literally disprove if you’d done the previous missions correctly. And it tossed aside any real consideration of the thoughts or decisions

That’s a non-comparison. No one is/was getting tattoos of their fav Sim City building. No one was buying Sim City merch at Hot Topic, Walmart, Target. There were no mainstream news reports on the Sim City craze. It was always a niche genre of game, “easily” replicable by comparison.

Palworld is buggier than S/V ever were, but you don’t hear the grognards complaining about it.

PalWorld just came out a few weeks ago and its success was a huge surprise to basically everybody, so there’s hardly been enough time for Pokemon to react to it in a meaningful way.

Yeah...nah.

Never mind the fact that Palworld literally came out last month, so the idea that somehow Gamefreak or TPC will be able to course correct from whatever projects they’ve been working to “respond to Palworld” is silly.

But also...I don’t think anyone really wants them to put out a product that’s in “response”

This is like writing an article in 2011 saying “After Rebecca Black’s smash hit “Friday,” Taylor Swift better come out swinging!”

Barring an absolute miracle, Palworld will be a footnote or a snarky meme reference in T-minus 6 months once the player base dwindles to .0001% of its current peak. Just because game website

After Palworld, Pokémon Needs To Come Out Swinging”

It’s incredibly cool that this company of incompetent boobs was allowed to buy up basically every videogame IP that wasn’t already spoken for (and some that were).

Woomy!

Great joke! But important side note: Losing pfps sucks. I can picture your lil alligator in my head but he ain’t there 😭😭

Hasn’t the fact that Nintendo was one of the first game companies to pioneer false scarcity to make their products more appealing been known for like decades.

Bobby Kotick:  “Here, hand these out to the boys in lieu of pay.  Harrumph!  Harrumph!”

Funny how Pokemon launches with some performance bugs and years later it’s “fucking terrible”, but Cyberpunk launches with far worse bugs and all that game gets is some gentle ribbing.

Scarlet and Violet launched with the most sales of any single-platform game in history, and twice as many sales as Palworld managed in the first weekend.

Copyright is automatically granted for creative works and, for companies, lasts for 95 years.

They have copyright, what they don’t have is the trademark. Seems pedantic but it is a meaningful distinction

I don’t think that’s true at all. Many companies have successfully mimicked Pokemon (Yo-Kai Watch, Monster Rancher, Yu Gi Oh, Digimon) with original ideas, while following the monster collecting format. It’s very clear that Palworld is AI because all of the monsters look like uninspired mash-ups. The face on the

Maybe not replacing people, yet, but theyre certainly not going to be hiring new artists. And then eventually their current artists will die or leave and hey, they dont even need an “art” department bigger than 1 person
