I loved Navi. I was 12 when OoT came out and I loved this idea of having this little chirpy companion in all these dark dungeons. Never understood the backlash.

Bah, Navi was fine. The hate is overblown. Reminder that she never actually says “HEY, LISTEN!” on repeat. It’s just “HEY”; the “LISTEN” is what she says after you actually listen. Anyway, I loved the Z-targeting info on enemies. 

Navi is a bit annoying, true, but the way they contextualized the tutorials/hints/lock-on system into a side-kick that dynamically followed you around was pretty amazing and quite ahead of its time in my opinion.
