I have no doubt we will get to Mars and SpaceX will be first to get people there, but 4 years? It will take longer than that to get the necessary approvals. It will take us 4 years just to get back to the moon. 

That needs to be improved to $100k/ton to build a self-sustaining city there, so the technology needs to be 10,000 times better.

In this case because the damage, the wheel and surround, is VERY localized it seems unlikely it was cause by collision with a vehicle. It almost looks like a suspension failure and the janky wheel caused the damage while they were coming to a stop.  More interesting to me, at least, is who is fine with just tossing
