ooooooooooooooooooooweeeeeeeeeeeee

Malek strikes me as being exactly the sort of “serious” dramatic actor who happens to be hilarious when working in sketch comedy (John Hamm being the obvious example)

Jason Sudeikis is hosting SNL? What’s up with that?

One of the most interesting things about the Alter powers concept is that, technically, everyone has the same power — the ability to mentally gather up any nearby nonorganic matter and transform it into something else. But what form that “something else” takes is determined by their subconscious minds, so you learn a

Everyone: We need to back off and regroup so no one gets hurt.

Yeah without getting in to spoilers for others who want to take this in for the first time...it’s crazy to watch as the various Alters reveal their powers and the cost of using them.

This article forgets to mention that Reckless Fire is an absolute banger.

I remember this one fondly, though my appreciation is on a very uncritical level. After a lot of shows with the usual Shonen model of talent <blank> vs talent <blank> with a variety of powers and believing in yourself, Kazuma’s get mad and punch-punch-punch routine has always been gloriously straightforward/funny.

I thought everyone had forgotten about this one. I’ve tried to show it to people likeremember this” and the answer was always no.

Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace

I just saw that the other day on Berry’s IMDB page and told my friend. He didn’t really believe me at first and had to check himself. The smile on his face was so huge when he saw it himself.

It’s fucking brilliant! The episodes and seasons are WAY too short.

Toast is a major treasure.

Duh! How could I forget MASH?!? I never watched Buffy, but the fact that Sarah Michelle Gellar is better remembered than Kristy Swanson, says a lot about the success of the TV show.

The most obvious successful was probably M*A*S*H

Castle of Days is the volume I was thinking of. A Gene Wolfe miscellany, mostly about BotNS stuff.

I think it started out as a reference in one of the BotNS novels to something called “the Castle of the Other,” but Wolfe mistyped it as “otter,” liked the sound of it, and filed it away for future use.

Interestingly, there are a number of Book of the New Sun jokes in The Castle of the Otter, or whatever Wolfe wound up calling that catch-all.

No doubt the Shrike lurks within, lying in wait for careless interlopers picking their way inside.
