I like your gallon idea for the car and home. What always happens is I get 24-packs of bottled water (portability, I said. rationing, I said) and then end up drinking them after a jog or passing them out to friends or something. I don't think I'd do that with gallon jugs.

I have a Go bag and a car kit. The go bag started a year or two ago when I got caught out at college without anything to change into etc. (I'm a commuter) overnight. So now under my desk is a "go anywhere for 2 days" kit.

It's called a joke.

Yeah. There are a bunch of other risky casting choices being made, some of which don't make sense given the ages of the characters and the actors they could have chosen to portray them. It'll have to work flawlessly.

I just finished reading it again about a month ago when the long trailer came out. The images were pretty quick to figure out, so I think the limitation will just be the length of the movie. There's no way to give a book like that a decent amount of time.

Yeah, everyone knows women don't like sports.

+1

Sometimes it can give you estimates based on context. Like someone said "How old is" or "[Person] age", height, net worth, etc.

The contrast of brights to darks. This page is all white and you're not squinting.

That car is beautiful. I just got a really visceral lusty feeling, watching that .gif.

I imagine this is going to be pretty spare unless/until user-generated content fills it up. Then it could be super useful. Same with the transit overlay. Some cities are going to be easier to pull off than others. Would they be partnering with transit authorities for things like bus and train times or pulling them

Well, I laughed.

Don't tell me, tell everyone who has ever launched a mobile OS.

Not really. We've been seeing W8 and WP8 promotion all over the place, but none of it has been an official launch. That's the announcement, the event running through the features, the hardware, price points, etc. After that stuff goes on sale, usually about a week until pre-order and a couple of weeks until you can

Do you know that you sound pedantic? If they launch the OS on the 29th, what do you think are the odds that you get a phone before Halloween?

In the next ad, they show you the same woman shot from a different angle and the tagline is, "Your whole world, in one phone. The Lumia 9000."

I'm pumped for the next-gen Lumia. That's a great-looking phone.

Can I be your friend?

Slightly related: Why doesn't MS buy Nokia and create a WP powerhouse? I'm not asking as a suggestion, I'm asking because I don't know. Would that be a good idea? The Lumia would just be the Windows Phone, Nokia would be given new life, and hell, maybe they'll bring back a dedicated Zune. Say what you want about the

Crappy electioneering move. Oil prices are going to creep up slowly until it's all gone, and anyway they'd have to refill the reserves eventually.
