If I ever recieved an email.like.that I would sharpen up my resume asap.

This company should have gone out of business years ago. A ridiculous YouTube channel and a bunch of gullible people managed to keep it alive for an extra few years. Just put it out of its misery.

I still have my Opportunity Rover watch from ThinkGeek. I miss their April fools pranks.

I miss Thinkgeek :( I agree, what Thinkgeek sold for the most part were evergreen products - video game, fantasy and sci-fi collectibles. It was a really neat place. The 8ft of shelves that showed up at the front of Gamestop stores was not a replacement.

I think the problem is most of GameStop’s money now probably

I miss thinkgeek

Gamestop really just needs to pivot hard at this point and just become what they bought: ThinkGeek. Thinkgeek succeeded in a marketplace where their shipping and general site were garbage but it worked because they provided products nobody else did. So of course gamestop got rid of that site, smushed it into

Biggest money saving they could do is dump the CEO. Their email was a waste of time and money and I am willing to be he delegates 90% of anything he is supposed to do. He probably delegated writing the email.

So no more huge bonuses for store employees, or generous trade in values for games?

That is, in my experience at least, basically every plastic figure sold. They charge a huge amount for something that does not look like it’s worth it.

US laws still apply when non-US companies sell things here. The courts might not have quite as much power as they would with a domestic company but they definitely can’t be ignored.

Poked around the website to see what they had, and none of it seems as high quality as the prices would suggest. Feel bad for the buyers that now have to fight to get their refunds. Probably have to file a claim with their banks/creditors.

It could also be that there were multiple rounds of revisions that burnt through available cash. I have never known a situation where a licensee would flat-out refuse to do any changes, but I have seen many situations where a licensor was incredibly particular.

Yeah, this or GH dragged their feet so long on the production of some of these pieces that the agreement with Sony expired, as did the sell off period, before they were ready to ship. Once Sony found out they were still taking orders they demanded existing stock be destroyed and outstanding orders cancelled. Sucks for

Basically yeah, that’s Gaming Heads’ story.

eh, good enough (unlike for Solar Opposites where it wasn’t quite so [shrug])

I feel like they damaged the brand so badly last week that they may have had no other choice than to remove that “Made with Unity” screen for personal licenses.

Sweet Jesus. How that CEO is not fired already is beyond me.

At this point the damage is already done. Fuck Unity. Every developer that is able to do so should start working toward publishing any future projects they start on something other than Unity. If it’s not feasible for a project to change mid-development, then that should be finished with Unity and they should work

Lol, it doesn’t matter. They might retain some smaller indies, but any larger indie studios or AA/AAA studios who were previously using unity are gonna jump. Any new developers are going to find so much negativity towards unity when evaluating what engine to use they’re going to use godot or unreal.

It is going to take

It’s sounds like you haven’t been following this story. He came out swinging in the beginning placing all the blame on her, then acted like he had nothing to do with painting her as a bad mother.

So it wasn’t Sophie’s choice?
