People need to chill. He’s a professional, he can feel whatever work of his he wants is mediocre. He didn’t even criticize the films (which, to be frank, have lots to criticize, the third one accepted), he just said his performance was mediocre. I disagree, but he’s the artist.

Then again, why ask internat fans to

AI thinks we should fear and welcome David Cronenberg.

I thought his passion was making out with extras.

AKA the funniest joke in Hot Tub Time Machine.

I get the impression sometimes that what a site like this wanted was a full expose and perhaps mea culpa on his addiction, divorce, and rehab and that anything less (like say, a comedy special) is obfuscating the truth.

I thought it was a great special and bracingly self-critical without straying from its overall

This.

Bobby Moynihan and Kenan Thompson are two that just have never once cracked me up. I realize humor is subjective but Kenan just always feels to me like he’s mugging for the camera and playing it like he’s reading his lines for the first time. Moynihan just seems to only have one register and that’s loud and bug-eyed.

Even though, against all odds, Dr Mrs. the Monarch was, at no point in her life, biologically male.

My favorite genre is ‘article drumming up controversy from comments that are not all that controversial punctuated by snarky internet commentary’

He is on record as saying he has no real-world talents...but if he thinks something is going to be funny, he’s convinced he can do just about anything. He said he’d be a terrible actor because in order to commit, he has to think it’s going to be funny.

Now playing

I remember distinctly the clip that got me into Conan. I was born in the mid 90s and was unfamiliar with his work growing up apart from some appreciation for him being a part of the simpsons. But in college I came across his trip to the American Girl doll store and it remains one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen.

He talks about it on a Paley Center interview. He said it was a rough night.

I am 2/3 of the way to hating him!

So you’re saying she’s single.

This pudgy, sweaty, bespectacled internet commenter will finally take his shot!

I came here for this. It remains to me one of the funniest cutaways in any sitcom and I can’t here the phrase without thinking of it.

God, I miss Bob’s Burgers at its prime.

Sort of like anyone I know who was declared themselves as ‘hating drama’ have been the most insufferably dramatic people I’ve ever known.

The point of the show is cringe...and also lack of self-awareness. I can’t stand it and hence have no interest in watching the clip but it kind of sounds like she nailed it.

It seems like these avant garde performance art style comedians always take things way too far in the name of comedy (see also Andy Kaufman). There may be pushback, but I kind of doubt it, seems like with Borat firmly in the rearview mirror there’s not so much love for SBC.

I mean, I haven’t seen it...but if you can make an article debating the question it’s clearly not ‘undeniable’.

Sigh, that show was too good for this world.
