Oh damn. That’s insane.
Oh damn. That’s insane.
It’s amazing that the fandom of Swift, one of the most popular, rich, and powerful people in pop-culture, relies almost entirely on seeing her as a victim or at least constantly in danger of being victimized.
Who. Gives. A. Fuck.
I like this one a lot more than most. I find it much less cloying than many and really love a lot of moments in it.
But I specifically want to call out a spoiler-y line of dialogue at the end that has alwasy summed up what a good relationship with your family is like. When he’s explaining to CZJ why he’s in America…
This one always made emotional sense to me. Dixon is shown to be petty and careeris and Viktor’s actions directly result in Dixon, rightfully, not getting promoted. That he would react with cruelty is entirely in keeping with him as a a small man with power (nicely juxtaposted with Viktor, an impressive man with…
It’s so good. This one and Catch Me If You Can are on my permanent ‘listen to this if you need a pick-me-up’ list. Williams gets remembered for the epic, but his smaller stuff is so good.
“however it still works as a raunchy, straightforward superhero show.”
This is what kept me watching but I’m not sure it’s true anymore. The action scenes are still top-notch, but the show isn’t really all that much fun anymore because it’s ceased to feel innovative or fresh. I never loved the violence/gore but it was…
I really loved the first two seasons of this show (and parts of the third) but boy, it’s feeling tired, convoluted, and increasingly lazy. Plot points make less and less sense but more and more subplots are crammed in. Social satire is abandoned in favor of simply replaying recent social events with superheroes subbed…
Yep, if it’s going to be social commentary, they might actually try and add some commentary.
Yeah, the last episode with the convention was my jumping off point. It’s not that the satire of it bothers me (God know these sorts of things need to be lampooned), it’s the thudding obviousness of it. There’s no real commentary or cleverness to it, just a dull recycling of a relatively recent newscycle as…
Right, but you’re a burglar so that means nothing.
Yes, yes, great show, can’t wait for the second season, etc.
Seemingly that’s her thing...which is odd since she seems like she’s plenty attractive without that glossy, over-done look, but maybe it’s stylish as a style right now and I’m behind the times.
Beavis and Butthead fundamentally prevents me from engaging seriously with the work of Sabrina Carpenter...to be fair, the song itself gets me 80% there.
I also like the over the back shot of Gus walking back to the party in Salud. It’s relatively brief but still impressive and, in context, badass.
Bit nervous about that. Really loved the first season but felt like the ending was really rushed. Seemed like it was a carefully paced show that suddenly sped up to get to an admittedly really well done final setpiece.
I feel like, with all the visual brilliance that went on, Breaking Bad should have something here, but I can’t come up with much (brilliant shots, to be sure, but I’m struggling for brilliant oners though I’m hoping someone corrects me).
That third movie is so, so good. I might judge people a bit if they claim any movie but that one is the best one because it’s not close.
And in prison, a free...well not a sub exactly...
Should ‘Finding Out’ be capitalized? I know the term if f*ck around and find out...but I can’t figure a reason why it would be capitalized. Is that normal with sayings and vernacular?
As for the story itself...there isn’t one. F*ck you, AV Club.
