You mean Drake Bell, the guy who was sexually and physically abusive to children in his own right? Yeah, I struggle to sympathize with him at this point. I guess that’s sociopathy to you.

It’s one of those articles where there is no sympathetic figure.

“There are some major The Boys vibes at play here, from rusty statues of clearly corrupt all-powerful beings and screaming worshippers/victims, to a disembodied “fuck the gods” voiceover.”

Are there? I felt like there was a lot more American Gods here. I realize that was mentioned too but apart from the one expletive,

Yeah, it’s not bad exactly but it’s hard to recommend. I just saw it at the right age for it to make a big impression and it has some great visuals. But middling is right.

I have a soft spot for I, Robot...but you’re right.

Kung Fu Panda 4 must have been sold out.

Kristen Wiig is wise and people should listen.

Totally fair. Please forgive what was a too combattive response to your original joke-y comment.

A few points.

First a minor one: Oppenheimer is about 26 minutes shorter and Dune 2 about 40 minutes shorter.

Second point: I loved Oppenheimer and a big part of it is that it flies (Chris Nolan is a master at pacing) but it’s going for a totally different effect. If Killers was paced that way, it wouldn’t work nearly

This is a reductive take. While I loved Killers and didn’t find the length burdensome, it’s a bad faith take to say that people who can’t get on board are lowbrow idiots (which is what I interpret your comment to be saying).

Three and a half hours is difficult. Many people don’t have that in their day to give all at

Not here to comment on this in any way beyond saying that album title is dire even if intended ironically.

I just, I’m amazed people are celebrating this. It’s such a meaningless thing to say. As a creative you can say any of the following:

“I no longer want bigots to watch my work”
“I hate that bigots can watch my work”
“I will seek to make work bigots won’t watch”
“My work is not intended for bigots”
etc.

But you can’t say

Replace him with Terrence Howard. Full circle!

That one has been on repeat for me! But I think ‘Death Wish’, ‘Save the World’, and ‘Middle of the Mornin’” are all amazing too.

Interesting. I never would have thought to compare them. But if I were to, I think I’d agree with you. Isbell is sincere while Misty is buried under a pile of irony and affectation.

I will admit, I had no interest in scrolling this list (or clicking it), but I wanted to shout out the just-released Jason Isbell album which is lovely.

Yeah, the idea of putting Seinfeld as number two between Dexter and How I Met Your Mother doesn’t sit right.

Yeah, the good Indiana Jones films feel sort of timeless (in that, while they’re set in an era, they’re very much their asthetic and the music is part of that).

Now playing

Sympathy for the Devil at the beginning was such a cliche to indicate the 60s is such a cliche. Patrick Willems talks about it extensively in this video. That part felt weird and should likely have just been the Indiana Jones theme by Williams.

They were frozen in the years between then and now.
