I miss when this site would possible reconsider calling anyone involved in a domestic abuse case a ‘sore winner’. It doesn’t matter who’s in the right, the snark just seems...too flippant and casual. If Depp is in the right, this is cruel. If Depp is in the wrong ‘sore winner’ still manages to trivialize what Amber

I think they are going to do what they planned to do in the second season and reveal Gandhi was actually a clone of Little Richard. In my opinion, it’s an elegant solution.

What makes you think that?

Obligatory favorite quotes thread:

“Hey, get off my Dinghy...not you!”

I’m not a big fan of the first movie, but the cycle of hype and anti-hype has of course been exhausting well before this movies release, so I’ll not waste any time with that.

Yeah, the attitude is that you need to make it your life and be the best. I’m a pretty decent designer, but I’m too nervous a person to be the best. Still coming to terms with it.

I wonder how many people who worked there were truly extroverted (if truly extroverted is even a meaningful term). I know some of the people I’ve found funniest over the years (like Bill Hader and Chris Farley) dealt with a great deal of shyness and self-doubt.

If you’ll permit me to get personal for a moment, I work in the arts (as a graphic designer) and it became really clear to me that my own anxiety and struggles with mental health mean I’ll likely never do what this industry considers great work. Doing design work at a major firm is unbelievably demanding and I’m

Thank you for the thoughtful response. It’s an odd time for this sort of thing because while Spotify is a private entity and a source of revenue, it also is so massive and patronized that removing someone’s work feels more like censorship than it perhaps should. I normally fall much further towards separating art from

If you ever hear Conan O Brien (or even Bill Hader) talk about working on SNL, it sounds really brutal. Conan specifically has said repeatedly that he has a love hate relationship with it, as the work itself he’s very proud of and he had a lot of fun, but that he was constantly near panic and the pace of the show

This is clearly what was meant. Anyone interpretting it as him saying spanish-speakers are dumb is stretching.

Aww, thanks. That’s probably more credit than I deserve, but it’s very heartening to read.

I think you may be misunderstanding a bit how this stuff works. What we have here is a snippet of legally vetted description of the incident. What actually happened, in context, likely made someone feel uncomfortable (or objectified or threatened) enough that the people in the know saw it as a fireable offense.

No

Yeah, he’s the unfortunate sort of filmmaker who makes me ashamed when I do agree with his politics.

I’m very comfortable with being wrong. I’m used to it. It’s my comfort zone.

It’s like that scene but if it was only there because the director was too lazy to cut it out and hence claimed it was a ‘meta’ tribute.

Mr. Burns: Find the bathroom alright?
Adam McKay: Uh......yeah.

Yeah, that’d be sweet...

That makes sense to me. We haven’t had a properly grim superhero film outside of the Snyder ones in a long while. And Batman is always sort of huge.

You’ll never understand why people assess if they want to see films based on the clips of footage studios release in order for people to assess whether they want to see those films?
