God this is sad. I mean it would be and is when it’s someone who isn’t famous too, but the random brutality of this nature against an unarmed, defenseless 67 year old is really, really sad.

But script writing isn’t really his strength. He’s a guy who’s great at scenic design, atmosphere, character design (really all design), and characterization. His scripts are usually painfully obvious and a little hamfisted.
Well this looks...like it’s not made for me.
Man, I’m tired. Or that trailer is tired. Something’s tired.
I wondered that too. Perhaps it was supposed to be the Raylan Givens character or perhaps we’ll see it at some point in the future (I could see it being this season’s supernatural element).
Go spout your nonsense elsewhere! Next you’ll be telling me that guy from Malcolm in the Middle followed it up with a good show.
Yeah, I guess I’m more annoyed by the reverse. The song’s not remotely shocking, but sites like this that act like it’s a groundbreaking sex-positive feminist chant also seem to miss the point. It’s garbage of a sort we’ve had for a while now.
This. I don’t get the AV Club’s dedication to defending Cardi and this song.
The answer is yes, and on the off chance someone says no, I’m not watching this.
You know, in the time of COVID, I really miss the disqus comics group. Used to be my favorite part of tuesdays and fridays (and prior to that, just fridays). You guys were the best.
Yeah, I’m not a fan of that Bob’s Burgers, Family Guy, hand drawn to look ugly asthetic. I’ll credit Rick and Morty with doing a little better recently with some of their sci-fi elements.
I just don’t get the impulse to make everything CGI. Compare the latest Turtles cartoon (which isn’t good) with the last one which was CGI, and one is nice to look at while the other is...awful looking.
True, but it has its moments (plus cheap 2D looks better than cheap 3D).
The space aspects of those show look great. The characters still look plastic-y and unconvincing.
I look forward to one of two things happening in children’s animation:
Yeah, it’s really strange to see people taking Fisher’s word as holy writ without him actually saying anything. It wouldn’t take much to persuade me Joss Whedon is an abusive asshat...but I’d like to hear someone actually make allegations. Until then it’s a movie star being vague about a film that didn’t turn out how…
I love it! I think though I like it as much for the art as for the writing (Gabriel Ba is amazing). What did you think of the third volume? It felt weaker than the other two but it was nice to have the story picking up again and it implied some interesting things to come.
It’s got an undercurrent of dark comedy that keeps it from being too serious. It’s almost like a re-imagining of Jason Bourne as horror...but mild horror.
I am ok with this. It looks like the type of thing I’d like to see on a big screen which, per Nolan, is what it was designed for (I can’t imagine having missed out on Inception, Dark Knight, and Dunkirk on the big screen much as I would hate to have missed Mad Max Fury Road, Blade Runner 2049, and other spectacle…
Oh absolutely. He’s panned stuff I love, but I at least know where he’s coming from unlike the fanboy reviewers the internet is rife with who seems to not be interested in developing a sense of taste.
