If you haven’t, check out Spaced (which is back streaming on Hulu I think) which is Wright at his most charmingly PG-13

It is! I actually like Brie Larson singing Black Sheep better than the original version. And you’d be fully forgiven for rolling your eyes (not that you need to be), but I’m glad you’ve warmed up to it. It’s one of those movies I can watch whenever no matter how recently I’ve already seen it.

I know popular opinion goes back and forth on this one (due to the constant unrelenting cycle of internet hype, hype backlash, post backlash hype, etc.), but I love this movie. I don’t care even a little bit about the main love story...or really almost any part of the story, but it’s the most fun I’ve ever had in a

Really? I thought it was fantastic.

Beavis’ quiet asides like ‘Yeah, not very smart.’ crack me up just from the line readings. Judge is so good at it.

So this special seems better than the Parks and Rec one, and for that I am graceful.

It’s a cesspit. A pee-pee soaked heckhole.

I mean, I don’t know how limited it is if he’s writing 2-3 titles (Giant Sized, X-men, and the big x-men crossover). He’s writing as much for them now as he was before (maybe a little less since it’s only one ongoing).

Well this is awful...in so, so many ways.

I’d hold that Hickman is a better writer than Ewing by a wide margin, but I realize most people like Ewing a lot more than I do (I find his stuff creative but way clumsier than they need to be, there are big portions of immortal hulk for example where it’s simply hard to tell what’s going on)

Yep, although I’m pretty sure she told her sister about sleeping with the groom.

I really liked Palm Springs but I wish it was about 20 minutes longer. A lot of stuff could have used just a little more time to breath (the central relationship especially but also what exactly Nyles even remembered from his real life). That said, I actually feel like it had more depth than a lot of people are giving

Yep, he did the Montoya parts.

Yeah, it has a couple of favorite sequences. I love Vic hanging out in the Lesbian bar, but it’s his death that stands out. It’s the only superhero death that’s ever made me emotional. It’s not epic or noble, it’s a guy dying of lung cancer, and choking out his last to his protegee.

Larsen is transcendent, goddamit, transcendent!

Saw a sad thread on a meme site of users complaining that Larson isn’t funny and is ‘boomer humor’. Made me really angry that a community whose sense of humor is defined by irony and morbidity wouldn’t understand the magic of Larson.

Then I humbly take it back. I should have known. I had a similar thing happen when after reading an issue of Cable, Rob Liefeld literally kicked me in the balls.

I don’t want to be that guy, but ‘literally’?

True, true. That said, and this isn’t a counterpoint to your point at all, it’s weird how much momentum Saga will have lost when it comes back...if it comes back.
