If you'd do any amount of research you'd discover Tommy – by way of Harvard alums with juice and a desire to see a competitive basketball team, e.g. Steve Ballmer – has opened up admissions to get in kids that aren't future lawyers, or bankers, or docs. They'll be back home coaching basketball with a bullshit

They look so ancient now. Will perhaps be hip again in a decade. Currently in that old yet not old enough to be classic yet stage.

An 11 y.o. Phaeton previously owned by a crack dealer. I'm sure the maintenance record is meticulous.

Practical, late model, and a steal. Most of these jabronis are posting cars that would bankrupt the average American family after they inevitably cost $400-1200 every 8 weeks to keep on the road.

Photos in strip mall parking lot, in the seedy part of town...super legit.

The Aston looks like something that's been sitting on a seedy Compton used car lot for 19 months.

You think people would characterize a middle class guy in a G-Wagon as a [rich] douche? They'll just know he's car poor. A G-Wagon parked in an apartment complex or cookie-cutter crappy subdivision = straight frontin'.

Assaulting a cop is SO rad, man. Really.

So shortly before you turn in your lease you take it to your dealer for a trade-in valuation? Look up the residual (buy out?) on your lease, and if the valuation is a few grand more you take the buy out? Am I missing anything?

"fit in or fall out" Bingo.

How did you confirm it was worth $4k more than your residual/buy out? I think most people just don't want to deal with the hassle/risk.

One thing often ignored in these lease vs buy articles are the amount of idiots who get ripped off when leasing. Glance at lease swap website to see some of the outrageous monthly payments people have on rather ordinary cars. Leasing is wonderfully stress free...if you have an ounce of mental capacity. Otherwise,

I bet his old lease was worth about...$4700 more than the residual.

Why does your example have 100k miles when you buy it but only 80k if you lease?

Good luck being the part when you miss appointments because your beater broke down. Or you can't make rent because your used car needs $1500 in repairs, or $500 new tires, or $1200 struts. Further, there are industries where you need to project at the very least a clean cut image. Nobody is hiring a lawyer or a CPA

Solid advice. What did you make? How much total time did it take to sell an A4?

Most people that lease just don't want to bother with used car maintenance, buying, selling, trading in, etc. Leasing is no fuss. Obviously there are costs for the convenience.

" If you return a lease car in worse condition then when you got it, be ready to get nickle-and-dimed for every little thing."

CUE's piano black plastic finish swallowing the center console is 100% class!

More money, new bills. And your wife won't let you. I'm dead serious.
