I loved the first bits of the Ultimate world, but when I saw that they were proliferating superheroes like mad into it, I knew it was doomed.

There was an episode in season 1 of Alphas with a character who could do that, basically (ok, I think he was just able to see how everything was connected , so could position himself to take advantage; but you don't get those sorts of action sequences without some active intervention). With regard to C) … my confusion about the show was not helped by my immediately erasing the name 'Orwell' from my head, and being convinced that Skye was Chess's *spoiler*. 

I was amused when I read the theory that the reason the US's obesity rates are so high is because there's so little smoking. (No idea if this is supported, but it tickles my "there are always consequences" funny bone)

It's in some ways an ideal property for a film … it's got some name recognition (at least among "nerds"), so there's some people who will help spread the word; it's got a bunch of predefined characters; and unlike WoW, they'd be able to do anything they want with the characters because they don't have to worry about…
