Well, it's not that I think she longs for privacy (I mean, she's an actress, she clearly doesn't NOT want people to know who she is) but I also don't think she's any worse than the majority of celebrities. I mean, it's kind of part of their job these day, right?

Ahhh, you have proof of that! Excellent, glad to know!

As an ardent admirer of Jennifer Aniston, I must defend her honor!! Those other 2 awful people courted the media/paparazzi and begged for their lives to be documented as the pathetic losers they are. Jennfier Aniston is merely an actress that has become the object of publication fascination through no fault of her own

Well, kids are taught that the people who are safe are parents and teachers. If they are being threatened by a stranger at school, they are supposed to go tell a teacher. It makes sense they would trust their teacher when told to write down their address.

I was always under the impression that a ghost writer was paid separately from the "author" of the book, not out of their fee. Also, I would assume this is an advance, which holy shit that is a huge advance, and will get a portion of the sales too. But who knows what the minute details of the deal are.

I think they could probably manage to do a sketch with Whitney that pays homage to her, without ridiculing her. At least I would hope so. I would like to see one, I think using humor is a lovely way to pay tribute to a person.

When my boyfriend heard about this story he said that if he ever saw someone at a gas station putting a dog in a crate on the top of a car, he'd just walk up and take the dog and leave. And I completely believe him. He likes animals more than he likes people.

I would actually see this movie. Ironically, of course. (Read: Not actually ironically.)

I'm....not crazy impressed. Yes, she has a nice voice, but it's not spectacular. And she seemed a little dead-eyed during it? I might get called a jerk, since she's just a kid. But I just hope she doesn't try to come out with an album or something. You don't have to be a wunderkind at everything.

Yeah, I can understand that. I come from a very conservative religious family, so being prayed for/people asking you to pray for them is nothing new to me. I can understand how it could be seen as off-putting if that isn't something one is used to.

I know! If I were her I would have peeked at what was inside....and maybe have stolen a souvenir.

I'm not sure who I'm more jealous of in that kissing situation!!

I don't know...while I commend Sarah on her strength for standing up for her beliefs in a Catholic setting, I don't really see any malice in his statement.

I completely agree with you. He seemed to genuinely feel compassion for her, and wanted to wish her well. While it is a somewhat knee-jerk reaction to vilify any and all leaders of the Catholic church, this dude seemed genuine within the context of who he is and what he does.

In the far right photo, her head looks photoshopped on. I don't know if it's due to her stance, or the difference in color from her face to her chest, but it's freaking me out.

Oh man, I would totally be that friend. That would be hilarious. Also, trying to get the dude to sing it a kareoke!!!

I know this is probably a silly question, but I am just super curious about your friend's text alert. Did he have like a google alert set for just Whitney Houston, or for like, when she dies, or for just celebrity gossip? I am oddly intrigued by that.

Oh believe me, I know it's not about science and/or logic. I just have to try and make jokes about it to keep from crying and/or punching a priest in the face.

Yeah, it's never been an issue that I've ever heard of. I mean, it's certainly not promoted for teenagers, or even unmarried women, but it's definitely not frowned upon. I went on b.c. when I was 19 for health reasons, as I was not sexually active, with the full knowledge and support of my super conservative parents.

That is odd, I've never heard that argument before. I'm just glad that the super conservative religion in which I was raised (Mormon) never had any issue with birth control. I've got enough issues distancing myself from all that without any additional residual guilt for taking a pill every day.
