Very similar to what my wife and I did. We bought the game and played it on the PS4 - but used pen and paper for the elimination clues. We bounced ideas off each other and cheered for solved clues. Another good mystery game: A Case of Distrust (https://store.steampowered.com/app/717610/A_Case_of_Distrust/), which I believe also has a steam release. More in the visual novel style, but with a really slick presentation.
