Top 5? There were times where Tesla’s market cap was larger than the rest of the auto industry combined.

He knows that he’s putting the board between a rock and a hard place... I just cannot imagine a world where they grant him a deal for that much stock without there being an investor revolt among the institutional shareholders of Tesla...
I would be really interested to see how long/short the average Tesla investor is compared to other stocks.
That’s true until it isn’t... We’ll see.
I agree. I also can’t think of a reason why he would be trying to mislead on this anyway. I think the theme of the video was “I spent a bunch of money on this, but here is why it is actually reasonable” and that was pretty well accomplished.
It looks like you’re right. Am I crazy or did he refer to what he did as “replacing the entire suspension”?
I watched it again and it seem like you’re right. Its strange that he referred to it as “replacing the entire suspension” or whatever if he meant the coilovers. I don’t see how there’s any benefit to him misleading.
Something something “bumper to bumper warranty”...
Hey Doug, are you still driving the car you bought last February? You might want to put it in the garage for a while, or you’ll likely be on the hook for any damage if you suffer the bad luck of a suspension failure at speed.
I guarantee that Kimmel was immediately doxxed and he and his family started receiving death threats as soon as that comment was made. If his reputation was all that was on the line, I would say that he should just continue using his platform to verbally destroy Rogers with verifiable facts and legally protected…
Lots of relatively benign, somewhat crunchy, nominally centrist types took hard right turns during the pandemic. It broke a bunch of brains.
How many of those companies that regularly do stock buybacks are known for paying their workers fair wages? If a company has $10 billion in cash, they shouldn’t be saying “how do we get this into the pocket of investors?” before they make sure that everyone working for them are paid a living wage.
I don’t know how you transition out of it. I think making stock buybacks illegal or at least financially untenable is one thing maybe changing the tax implications of stock options... You can’t really change human nature and that’s going to overvalue short term rewards.
The whole point of luxury brands is that they are higher margin. My guess is that the upper limit price limit on the federal EV rebate is keeping things lower.
The article implies union shops have no OSHA violations when that is very much not the case from a quick search (in fact they have drastically more).
That’s something Elon Musk said in terms of the production ramping goal they’re looking to acheive by 2025
They could also consider rolling back a portion of the price increases that they dropped on consumers when sales were good.
It is also used for so many roles...
Tesla uses a camera in the back
You’re right,... they definitely shouldn’t make this the ONLY action that they take against climate change,...
