I’ve read books on geopolitics, been in long lectures, written essays on it. And I still don’t understand what Russia are playing at.

Just send an old Hilux to the Moon. It’s probably more truck than the Moon could handle anyways.
Probably?
I saw a CyberTruck pulled over getting a ticket today. It made me happy.
You’re correct. Unfortunately, my fat fingers on the keypad hit another type of stainless rather than a meaningless number. All 300 series stainless steel has similar issues, although 316 is less prone to most forms of corrosion and proved reasonably durable when used by DeLorean.
I don’t think the Cybertruck uses 304, everything I’ve seen suggests it’s 301.
Why does anyone ever feel bad for wealthy people experiencing their choice to purchase a (accelerated) depreciating asset?!
As other mentioned you’re referring to Moore’s Law, but that doesn’t apply in a situation like this. In this case IMO, it’s a combination of high starting MSRP, and consumer worries about batter longevity, and charging infrastructure.
True. Transistors are now approaching atomic scales, making further miniaturization challenging due to quantum effects and heat dissipation.
Corrosion*
Moore’s law is what you are referring too, and it is not applicable anymore. He based it on transistor miniaturization, and we are near the limit apparently. Instead of the predicted 2 years we are almost at 4 now. It held at 2 for many decades, though.
I’m not a material scientist, but I think the grades of stainless that work well for stamping/forming in particular are ones that tend to be magnetic - so obviously it makes sense these are magnetic - but I never would have thought to try to put magnetic logos on it. At my old job we made stainless springs, and those…
Flerf pointing at CyberTruck: “See! No curve!”
The endless comedy from this joke is astounding. It might even surpass Flerfs for most facepalming laughter in my lifetime.
The neo-robber barons. Im done with the modern era. Lets get the gulletine in the square, take back the stolen money from these billionaires, redistribute it and start over. I know that history says we will just end up back here again, but at the very least it will be cathartic for the rest of us for a bit.
Elon Musk: “Oh hur hur, I’m an idiot, lol!”
My GTI has no internal camera systems (that I’m aware of...), can these cameras just be taped over and then you just live without whatever half-baked “assistance” system they are associated with? Because that’s what I would do.
He’s a modern turn of the century rich person- there should be no laws or regs that apply to what he wants to do.
Least surprising relevation on Musk. He seems to have little regard for any rules and regulations.
Yet another reason to keep your old analog car running as long as possible. Or give up cars altogether.
