I was born with astigmatism so that’s my biggest gripe with extra screens in my face at night. Otherwise? It’s just someone’s personal preference. My old parents love their giant screens because it helps them navigate on trips easier.

My issue is the practice of using a touch screen, which inherently doesn't come with a good UX, for crucial vehicle controls.

In the olden days of hard buttons, your dash would be cluttered with features you had no use for. Now, that shit can be hidden away. Sure, it takes about five minutes to set it up, but once it’s done, it’s done forever.

Touchscreens are a necessary evil for all the modern things that can be adjusted in a modern car. However that doesn’t mean that everything needs to be within their control, nor do they need to dominate the interior layout of the car.
