I’m having a hard time with all the “Kim’s reaction as Jimmy hardens” interpretations—and it’s only a problem insofar as many viewers seem to think it foreshadows their breakup.

I mean, it wouldn’t have hurt Jimmy to express a little fake sympathy—and it would have spared him from Kim’s horrified look—but…

It is definitely implausible that Amma could be running that wild, that often, with her mother so clueless. And I agree with the overdone close-ups on drunken Camille. Altogether that character seems like a case of teenage arrested development.

Yet it got so many Emmy nominations, as if the quality had not plummeted compared with last season. Not for the first time, I question the judgement of those doing the nominating.

“Where did she come from?” is the right question. I had seen her in Dr. Foster, Thirteen, and a few other things—and had concluded that she was just another pretty face. Her performance in Killing Eve blew me away. At the very least, she deserves a nomination.

Sandra was very good, but Jodie’s performance made that show work. As for snubbing The Terror? Unforgivable. The Emmys are a joke.
