You ride a European bike, right? Try not completely disengaging the clutch so there is a little pull on the tranny. Most bikes prefer that. Full clutch for going into neutral.

It’s not just SF. The entire bay sucks. Moving to walking distance from work is the single biggest quality of life improving decision I have ever made. It is not an option for most people, I just got lucky, but it is so worth it if you can.
