I grew up in a racist home, in a racist small town in Texas. It was not until I got to the University of Texas, when I saw signs that read, 'Free Mandela', was I exposed to the concept of apartheid. Yep, I was that sheltered/ignorant.

It's also dedicated to and features his gay uncle and his partner on the cover of the single

Seriously. That whole team should be fired.

That color, though . . .
And the design?

Awww, don't feel bad. Just like it's possible to bash good artists when it comes to their personalities (like the current Ender's Game madness), it's just as possible to defend the personalities of so-so or bad artists.

I wondered about that as well. Maybe it was to make it look a bit less like they were so focused on Macklemore?

Interesting decision to change the picture to a more biasing one. What was wrong with the still from (presumably) Same Love?

Okay, preface this by saying I have never heard this song, haven’t heard of this song until a few days ago, and zero personal evidence that Macklemore is not a rapping fish or something (couldn’t pick him out of a line-up… though I do know he’s white from reading this article). BUT... it strikes me that this comes

*head tilt*

I would love to think that we live in a world where writing a song about gay rights was a surefire way to make millions of dollars and receive tons of public approbation. I agree that it would be great if he had taken the opportunity to call out some of the talented gay rappers who have been telling their own stories

He wrote and originally released the song before he was famous. It was not the song taht got him his break. Proceeds from sales of the song went to "Music for Marriage Equality".
Any excuse to hate people, sometimes.

Just because there are hip-hop artists who have addressed the issue of homophobia head on doesn't mean the genre isn't still overwhelmingly homophobic (and misogynistic, materialistic, pro-violence etc.). It would be irresponsible to act as though the problem has already been addressed and "solved". Shouting out all

People have to dig deep to make up petty issues and stir drama. I'm tired of it.

Can't anybody do anything good anymore? It's either suspicious, or it's just not good enough.

And the joke made a soft whistling noise as it flew over your head.

I can't believe that simply admitting that you're using a particular product is somehow hyper ethical these days. What would really be ethical would be for someone to admit that while using a product whether or not they worked out more, ate differently, etc.

Now, I think you're bring unfair. Jamie Lee Curtis seems very sincere in her conviction that we ladies should have yogurt parties and regulate our bowels together. I've never seen anyone with so much concern for women's pooping habits.

Can she sue the people that keep flashing those "Vaginal Mesh Lawsuit" Commercials I keep seeing? I don't if it's playing nationwide (I'm in Chicago). GOOD LORD those are annoying. I'll be watching a Boy Meets World marathon and then super loud "ARE YOU A WOMAN WHO HAD A VAGINAL MESH/SLING IMPLANTED???"

I heard she wasn't going to file a lawsuit at all until a Concerned White Lady lawyer played by Jessica Chastain came in and solved *ALL* the problems for her.
