Because as Microsoft has demonstrated with RARE, Ensemble, Kinect, Xbox One, Zune, Windows Vista, and the over 24 video game studios they've either lost, disbanded, or shut down over the course of the last few years, Microsft is nothing but a company of sane, rational, sensible decisions that totally doesn't waste

I bet one of the big reasons why MS bought Minecraft has to do with the upcoming Minecraft movie. They expect it will do the same numbers as the Lego Movie and MS will get a huge piece of the pie.

He was mostly in Abrakadabistan and Unicorn Land (formerly the Peoples Republic of Unicorn Land) and the police there are armed to the teeth. Mall cops have AKs and ride through stores in old WWII Krads. It's good that those two countries exist, because every time there is a critical discussion looming you can point

Notch made out like a bandit, and good on him.

Preaching to deaf ears man. People won't get that he hijacked at least 70% of the original source code until there is a documentary about it years from now and even then it'll be argued about.

sadly, it would be cheaper for them to replace their police-car fleet with MRAPs than buying new police cars.

They already killed GFWL.

You seem to be terribly misinformed about the whole situation.

Its already on pirate sites, people tend to forget consoles get pirated just as often too. It was on kat.ph the day it released on 360, and then playable on PS3 with custom firmware mere weeks after launch.

Instead of making five GTA5s, they could have bought Take Two (TTWO) at a > 25% premium to the current market cap and OWNED Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, 2K Sports, XCOM, etc. etc.

"We are also incredibly excited to be bringing GTAV to the PC, but the game requires a little more development time in order to ensure we put out the worst possible port you could ever imagine"

Welcome to Microsoft's Gaming division, where we specialize in ways to piss away money.

I guess we can officially give up hope for a mod API now?

I like you and I hope you're right.

Yes, but when was the last time two highly developed countries fought a war? WWII. And back then, none of the players had the large middle classes they have now — that came postwar.

If domestic oil supply keeps strong, I'd put my money on the Saudis. A whole "get to the funding source" justification.

Whenever things look like they're calming down, like they were towards the end of 2010, we have the CIA gin up something like the "Arab Spring" to get those fires raging again. People forgetting about the Russian menace? Let's kick over a pro-Putin government in Ukraine!

Thompson was a fucking genius, and a man who wasn't anywhere near as 'crazy' as he made himself out to be. He was only able to see the world as it really is, and had the balls to say what he saw. I regret that I was born a few years too late to appreciate him when he was in his prime.

I feel like his San Fran quote from Fear and Loathing is relevant:
