Could also switch the fold-out screen in portrait orientation, so maybe 10in tall by 6in wide, which I find to be better for maps anyway. Landscape is dumb.

There’s a lot about your comment that doesn’t make sense to me.

The screen for the backup camera should be, and always should’ve been, a direct replacement for the rearview mirror. There are some cars with done the right way, but only a few. The new Corvettes are the first thing that come to mind, but I know there’s more.

YES!!! I’ve been bitching for this for years now. It’s kinda weird how validated this article made me feel just now. I want this so much. My phone is better at literally everything that screen is used for, except for the backup camera, but that should’ve always been in the rearview mirror from the start. It never

Quite a few of us will use a rental even if we have a vehicle that can easily do long trips. Keeps the wear and tear off our main vehicles so that they last longer, and if you have a breakdown 1,000 miles from home you can just call the rental company and get a replacement.

I’m definitely fine with an EV with a ~200mi range. I’d rather have a lighter and more efficient EV than a nearly 2.5 ton sedan with 500mi of range.

That said, until I can charge it at home I’m not buying an EV. Even when I can in a few years, I suspect it will be unlikely that anyone will be producing any EV’s I

Honestly, I’m slightly offended that two of the suggestions are CUV/SUV’s. The last thing we need is even more crossovers. We’ve got plenty. We’ve got twice as many options as we need already.

Yeah, Ranger/Colorado/Tacoma/etc are all the same size as the 90's full size, but feel far more cramped inside due to the massive increases in crash protection. The Maverick is smaller, but it’s still quite a bit bigger than a 90's Ranger. I really miss the old mini trucks. Hell, I’d rather have an old Subaru Baja

If you actually need a third row of seats, just swallow your pride and get the minivan. It will do everything you are actually going to use the SUV for better than the SUV. I definitely don’t need a third row, but I still think the only vehicle on this list i would actually buy is the Pacifica.

Notably absent: If it is raining hard enough for you to feel justified putting on your flashers because of how slow you have to drive, YOU are the road hazard and you should find the nearest exit. Get yourself onto the surface streets and let the rest of us keep pace on the highway.

I disagree. All black may be the best boring color, but it’s still a boring color. Especially if it’s just black with no flake in it. Makes a vehicle look like somebody took one of the ugly basic shiny black plastic buttons off the steering wheel and said “Hey, make my whole car look like this.”

Any actual color

But then you’d have an Ioniq 6... and that sounds like an awful ugly idea.

88-98 OBS GM pickup. IMO, the last good looking “Truck’s Truck” ever made. I’ve been following the work Deboss Garage up in Canukistan has been doing with Edison to make just such a thing happen. It’s a series-hybrid kit they are working on, but close enough.

*googling....*

Huh... I’ll be damned. Eh, probably won’t be released until after I need to buy a car in late spring. Digging further into the car, I don’t think I’d chose it anyway. Don’t like the interior and too many “Standard Features” I don’t want. Also a shitty CVT unless you get the GT and that comes with a shit

Just as dumb as fake noises. If it’s not making you go faster...

If they made a hatchback version of the K4 I might actually be interested.

I’d be a lot more interested if they would fix the front clip. Just stick the Z4 nose on it instead of the Red Skull bullshit. It’s not a good looking design. It was never a good looking design.

I’d put it at around 60% likelihood but that figure is based on zero empirical evidence... just like nearly all online comments.
