Lol, there’s only two entries on this list I would even consider buying... and both of them would be project vehicles. I’ve been wanting to take a Crosstrek and drop a WRX drivetrain under it along with some Impreza body panels to make a rally-style WRX hatchback that Subaru has all the parts in the bin for but

If you pull up to an intersection with a stop sign, you know to stop. If you pull up to a yield sign, you know to yield.

I want nothing to do with AVs until they are as reliable as seatbelts and ABS. Right now they are not even as reliable as ACC, which I haven’t yet used an ACC system that was actually worth a shit.

Full L5 with no asterisk next to it or L0. Everything else is worthless to me.

Sounds like the right answer is better public transit, not half-assed attempts to make car-culture work for people who can’t drive.

I disagree. The only way for AV’s to be better than humans is to be able to do it without the crutches of V2X, cloud communication, and bunches of extra overlapping shitty sensors that can never seem to even match the power we’ve got in two eyeballs (or even just one in some cases). Massively better cameras and better

More to the point, it’s a helluva lot harder to make bulk amounts of money with an IQ in the -teens and it is near average or above it.

Eh, smart enough to make enough money to buy one. Fuck-all common sense though.

Smart/Safe cars tend to attract Stupid/Unsafe drivers that can be more stupid and unsafe thanks to modern technology. Yay...

Eh, certain vehicles attract certain types of drivers. We already knew Tesla drivers were below average in both skill and attention span. That’s why they bought the Tesla.

Robin Zeng “He’s good for the chips, the software, the hardware, the mechanical things.”

If he believes that, I’m going to put about as much stock in his statements as I do Elon’s. So... none.

I’d actually be ok with scrapping the EV tax credit if the orange megalomania also kill subsidies to the oil industry and corn farmers too. Let the tech fight it out on a level playing field.

Yeah... there are plenty of “Park Outside” notices for ICE vehicles too and home chargers are a lot less likely to cause an EV to self-immolate than a public charger so I’m not particularly concerned about it. That said, also, of course. In the current design iteration, the entire living area is at the opposite end of

I know grueling commutes. I still prefer simpler cars, regardless of drivetrain. I did 15 hours a week in Boston traffic in a Mazda 3 6MT and when it was totaled I replaced it with a Tacoma 6MT. I went out of my way to find an MT Tacoma. The MT was the only thing that kept me from fantasizing about suck-starting a 9mm

Perhaps, but I think without the noise it might make it difficult for me to overlook all the things that makes these cars shit driver’s cars for me, like a bunch of screens, shitty infotainment systems, stupid modes, lack of physical buttons and levers, and overbearing ADAS features that either cannot be turned off or

I still can’t get over just how boring EV drag races are. They are putting down truly stupid figures and trap times and yet it’s still soul-crushingly boring.

How the hell are there no lifted and squeaky clean Bro-Dozers with 22in wheels and off-road tires with treads that can best be described as “aesthetic”.

Also... how the hell did we let the poster-child for trust-fund babies and narcissistic  corporate elite privilege convince half the country that our country isn’t

The fucked up thing is that they still make it. It’s sitting on showroom floors. We just can’t have it. It may be FWD and power output is kinda shite, but it’s still a wagon, still a 6MT, and still looks pretty damn good.

They probably won’t. I’m just putting it out into the world that if they build it, I’ll buy it.

If they would sell the wagon version of the 6 in the US, I’d buy it. If they brought the MT version too I’d be one of the first in line.

I wouldn't be surprised if somebody at Mazda finally comes to their senses and sources a Liquid Piston engine instead of a traditional rotary.
