I will rue the day when TeamViewer goes the route of Logmein and gets rid of their free version :-(

I don’t know how the HR Block one will work, but the TurboTax one from years past gave you the option to pick how much ended up as gift cards vs. cash. Of course, the part you took in cash didn’t get the bonus.

I used this method at my last job. It was helpful, but I didn’t find it as elegant as the Google solution. For one, the timing wasn’t as granular. A 30 second delay is more than sufficient, and this didn’t allow that. Also, Gmail gives you the option to send immediately, whereas this does not. One minute doesn’t sound…
Looks like it got good reviews, but at $18, I could buy a thousand razor blades. :-$
I’ve been a TurboTax user forever. How does this compare?

TeamViewer and Crashplan remote backups have saved my parents’ computer more than once. Great suggestions!
I recently discovered degreaser. I never used it growing up, so it was actually brand new concept to me. No joke!
Magic! In all seriousness, I don’t know. But I suspect it has to do with a combination of people your contacts are also connected to, plus your contacts on Gmail or Yahoo if you’ve given LI access, and a little bit of luck. There’s a significant number of false positives, so on some level, they must be guessing.
This is a great solution to a perennial problem!
Thank you for doing this post! So tired of all the junk science and fads out there.
That’s a really good point. In my case, I use B of A for the cash deposit, and electronically transfer it to Ally. But yes, if Ally was my only bank, I’d be up a creek.
I really like Ally as well. Love the fact that I can segregate my money with unlimited different accounts.
I watched it last time it was on Netflix, and I’d have to agree with you. It was pretty terrible.
No disagreement here. I did the free upgrade from 7 to 10 back in July. It was a terrible experience. I went back to 7 a few months later.
LinkedIn is a data miners paradise, assuming you have a LI profile.
Well lucky me. I just pulled $140,000 in change from my couch cushions. My kids are set. </sarcasm>
It is sad to me that this price is considered a “steal”. When I first bought this knife about 8 years ago, $28 would have been considered exorbitant. But somehow in the past 8 years, the price has risen dramatically, hitting a high of $45 this time last year.

It should be clarified that this is Android only for now. From the website, it appears that iOS is coming. Would love to see a follow up LH post to let me know when it’s released.
The Ballmer Microsoft can die a painful death. But the Nadella Microsoft is a radical departure from its predecessor. They’ve embraced open-source, are bringing Linux to Windows, coded Office for iOS, support Linux on Azure, and more. Of course, one could question their motives (clearly it’s in the service of more…
Totally disagree. I’ve gotten my prime rib (sometimes USDA Prime to boot) from Costco for years. They’ve never let me down. Always cheaper than the grocery store, and I’ve always been satisfied. Might I be happier with a cut from a “real butcher”? Maybe. But if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
