Not sure about Filipinos but my in laws are Vietnamese and they both had all their teeth pulled around 50 and been wearing full dentures since then. This seemed to be common among all their middle aged relatives as well.

My grandfather had all of his teeth pulled as a teen when he joined the Navy in WWII because the dentist said it would be bad if he got a cavity while at sea. Idk about the Philippines though.

As a Filipino, I can say that my grandmother did something similar. The healthy teeth in the back she kept, but she had a few in the front removed to "straighten them out". My mother, on the other hand, did not do any such thing and it's funny b/c ma has a bit of a snaggletooth going on, so I'm not sure how my

That is. . . not LA makeup. I spend quite a bit of time in LA and while people there often wear heavy makeup, most folks do not walk around like 80s Mary Kay. If I had to peg that look as who would wear it nowadays. . . I'd probably say someone at the Glamour Shots in the Mall of America.

I felt Gigi's eye makeup looked dated. It made her look older and in her before it's clear she is so youthful looking and lovely.

Chiming in here- poor Gigi! It looks like a child did her makeup, taking her mom's entire stash of products and using every single one of them, because more makeup = more pretty!

If eyeliner is out, I don't want to be in.

I think all three women look great before, and I swear I'm not just saying that. Now then...

Yes! 80s Mary Kay is a perfect description of the look there. It ages her a lot, and the lack of any eyeliner seems the emphasis the over-use of her eyeshadow. She has gorgeous natural brows and her eyes are so bright on their own, it's a shame they caked everything on like that. Maybe it's an LA thing.

You mean like...

Seriously. I feel like Gigi's After looks 20 years older than her before. That's just wrong.

Matronly is the exact word for it.

100% agree. Gigi's eyeshadow should barely come up past her crease, and then only the transition shade. A subtly smoked outer corner would have been killer! And while you can occasionally get away with breaking the "bold eye or bold lips: pick one" rule, that is not a combo that qualifies.

I feel as though this compliments your post.

I'm reading it as super-light mascara, and some light shimmery orangish lipstick. It's nice, but I definitely wouldn't classify it as "a makeover."

Gigi, I love the eyes and lips, but honestly that foundation makes you look 20 years older! I'm not trying to be mean, you look so young and fresh in the first picture and then the second one you look matronly.

Oh my god, so much prettier natural. The combination of bright lipstick and shadow feels very nursing home chic - like are we sure the makeup artist isn't someone's grandma who can no longer tell how bright the makeup is? (Yes, I'm sure because the cheek color is pretty, not two giant hot pink circles).

You are all beautiful ladies, but those Mac folks did y'all dirty—- and I say that as a general fan of Mac-style heavy makeup.

I think that's disengenuous. You clearly stated that you hated the tone of the piece, especially the quote about the grandmother's blonde hair and blue eyes making her the most beautiful girl in the village. You can walk back that statement because you didnt get a chorus of agreement to it. But in that case, how is it

I can help with the Indian version of this! We are all about that turmeric and chickpea flour face masks and all kinds of natural stuff. My grandma is 93 but most people think she's in her 60s.
