That’s a common problem with most bands. People focus on one or two members and ignore the others. It’s worse for women. Mention Talking Heads and people think David Byrne despite Tina Weymouth is one of the best bass players of all time.

As a big TG fan, thank you guys for doing this interview. TG is one of those groups that rarely get any acknowledgement for their influence and when they do, it usually focuses on Gen or Sleazy.

If you notice, when he quotes people, a lot of times if you just take the quote with no context it can sound both positive and negative. Like, “I’ve never seen anything like this before.” Is that a good thing or bad thing? Trump always assumes its good when it’s about him, and my not necessarily be.

Not just ignorant but hateful. There are plenty of folks out there who don’t buy Trump’s bullshit—but support him anyway, solely because they believe, probably rightly, that he’ll hurt people they don’t like.

Ugh. I was very busy offline this weekend so I missed Nate Silver and will have to go back and do some reading, but yes there were a lot of variables that led to the loss but a BIG factor was media coverage. 25 years of demonizing on one side of the equation.

Terry Gross did an interview with a reporter who’s covered Trump for years who commented on the way he talks. Her take was that when he was talking about business or real estate he was much more articulate. I feel like there’s a few potential conclusions:

Plenty of them want to test folks who are applying for aid from the government. Maybe that policy should be applied to them, too.

He sounds like what he is: a bullshitter, talking fast and loud and hoping that you can’t keep up. Because if you stopped and thought for a moment about what he was saying, you’d realize it was all bullshit. Bullshit is his method. Bullshit is his life. Bullshit is all he has.
