Or the one openly white supremacist shop I ran into. Guy didn’t hide it from the customers. This was in the North, in the Aughts, in an urban area.

I did the usual cashier/bagger thing, and that was fine, and I was a porter at a car dealership, which is fun only in that you drive nice cars for 100 feet.

The only other thing I thought, way back at the time, was that maybe it was about two friends crushing on each other in that “will they/won’t they way” but that’s the innocent explanation, and it can read rapey AF, of course.

Not to mention you don’t get fired for saying something unpopular -- I can tweet about how great Skyline chili is all day long and not get fired -- but for actual hateful shit that reflects poorly on your place of employment.

Media industry drone here. There are companies out there that sell this code to various sites. Usually it’s meant to bring traffic back to your own (legit) site. But not always. Even legit news sites get plagued by this spammy shit. I think, and I am not sure, this happens because people aren’t paying attention and

I went to bed in the 5th or 6th, because I am not a fan of either team and I was tired. I remember thinking, well, maybe I will wake up to find up LA blew it, and then thinking, nah, it’s 3-0 and the Nats aren’t hitting.

A spoiler alert would’ve been nice.

Live nearby, can confirm.

Movie Wayne and Garth were 20-somethings. Wayne starts the movie by talking about how he’s worked a bunch of shit jobs, and the whole idea of selling the show to creepy Rob Lowe was so they could move out of their parents’ house. In the sequel, which is based on the mega-happy ending, they have their own places but

This, and a few other things I’ve seen lately (that cat lady essay), show me that we’ve been neglectful in teaching men how not to fall for these ideologies and how not to be shitty (yes, men should also know some of this for themselves, but some men need the help). Part of feminism isn’t just getting women to be

I like most of these ideas, but even as a liberal, rent control makes me pause...I know very progressive people who work in these fields who tell me rent control often doesn’t work (it might in specific cases like NYC) and other ideas are better for helping keep rent costs down. Maybe I am wrong.

ND fan here. I don’t know if Kelly is normal. He seems like the jolly Irish guy at the bar but he also didn’t cancel practice in bad weather and a student assistant died...not to mention his players have been as rapey any other school’s, and he can be a red-ass of the highest order.

I’m a Sox fan, so keep that in mind, but I definitely texted someone a similar thought when Trump won.

Lifelong Chicagoan and never heard of this. But I’ve seen some office kitchens with a stove. So perhaps that is what he meant.

I didn’t know any of this. All I know is watched Ireland-Wales on St. Pat’s and I was like this sport is awesome.

Dear Max -- it’s true that we can’t expect leaders to know everything. But I think we can expect even the dumbest leader to call the cops when it comes to child rape.

Chicagoan here, agree on WI.

If I am reading it right, she means not ideological bias, but the more innocent news-selection bias (ie, all humans are biased, humans run the news, it’s impossible to be 100 unbiased) and/or the less innocent racial bias (ie even white male liberals in the media have race-based assumptions).

Shame on all of you for coming here to crack jokes about this wedge issue. Although I guess it does suit Deadspin.

Right? There probably is a thoughtful argument to be made against Hill’s piece (which I have not read). But Laura Shithead isn’t the one to make it.
