Came here to say this. I consider the Mason-Dixon line the “official” divider, along with the Ohio River. But I also consider MD and DC to be Northern, culturally, or at least more so than Southern. Have spent some time in the area.

I think people associate Thanksgiving with fall, though. I live in Chicago, and the day can be pretty damn cold, and occasionally warm, but usually the weather is still “fall”. My lady friend has often talked about how Trump stoked hatred and anger in this country. I’ve always downplayed it, because while I believe he has done that with the MAGA crowd and the racists, I didn’t think one person, even POTUS, could get average Americans so angry at each other.
