The whole “bumper cover over the headlights” look sure was a design choice. 

There were cars that had color shifting paints, but only about 3000 or so Fords were ever actually painted in Mystichrome. It’s $26,000/gallon

Personally, I just wish it was an actual Toyota product made from actual Toyota parts and pieces and didn’t look the way it did. The Bimmer version looks much better, and that’s saying a LOT considering current BMW designs.

The coolest thing for me is the split window. They absolutely did not have to do that but they did. Cool little detail.
