What a fucking slog. The only interesting part was the bit of Flashpoint/Injustice future narrative, and that was only in comparison to the 3 hour and 50 minute trash heap that preceded it. Snyder was clearly more invested in the storyline than the rest of it. The closest point of comparison for me is Richard Donner’s Read more

Entertaining in fits and starts. A couple of laugh-out-loud moments. Some surprising cameos. Leslie Jones and Wesley Snipes are the MVPs. Jermaine Fowler as the young prince was also a standout for me; he managed to channel that “young Eddie” energy just enough that you could kind of handwave any questions of whether Read more

Goddamn, did I need this blast of viciousness right now. Thanks, Dowd. It’s like a surgically precise shotgun blast.

Again, I have to put it out there: read the Matthew Stover novelization. It’s one of the best Star Wars books I’ve ever read. Really gives so much more weight to what happens onscreen. You shouldn’t have to read additional material in order to fully enjoy the cinematic experience, but this one is worth it.

Reading a collection of poems called “Mixed Feelings” by Avan Jogia. Been a while since I found some poetry that really hit me.

If they could bring back some awesome updated arcade oldies as they did for the Ps3 (e.g., X-Men and the Mortal Kombat Trilogy), that would be super. Still find myself wishing I hadn't traded in my PS3.

Weirdly enough, I was just thinking about this movie and the mini-indie-reign of Ed Burns yesterday. If “She’s The One” had no other reason to exist, the soundtrack would be enough.

I cannot overstate how much this album means to me. Quick silly story: I actually found a CD binder when I was about 13 which contained this and a diverse collection of 99 more great albums, which contributed greatly to my musical development at the time. (For the record, I did turn it in but no one ever came back to Read more

Due to some recent real-life concerns, I’ve been in quite a pop culture lull. I haven’t watched, read or listened to much of anything. So as you would instruct an old man, please tell me: what’s out there worth getting into right now? (Start with movies.)
