I think you are going to be off by about 10K....
Price? I hate too be bringing this up but it matters, especially with the competition it faces.
It is what a true Porsche should be, but for that price the McLaren 570 is even more of a drivers car.
They are both two of the most disgusting humanoids on the planet, but I agree, Cruz is actually worse.
For what it costs it should be able to go into submarine mode ala the James Bond Lotus after it crashes into the water.
Spot on, Mr. Torch. As I said in one of the half-dozen other posts about this car today alone, it would be different if their was some diversity of models with a purpose other than being Mack daddy of all automobiles. The Bugatti’s of yesteryear had that kind of range and purpose. You could argue that even the…
Sorry, thought you meant the ST.
For me affordability and performance are both important, and these days there is no reason for sacrificing one for the other. In other words, someone could buy a Focus RS for less than a very modestly optioned 228i, and have about the same performance as an M235i for 10 grand less. I know what I would do.
I was talking about the 228i with manual which is what Jalopnik was recommending. Unless this is a new option for 2016 it was not available, according to a Road & Track comparison between it, the FRS and the Mustang EcoBoost:
Maybe because when Bugatti was a stand-alone company in its heyday that is exactly what they did. Granted, they were all incredibly expensive, but at least there was some variety, from 2 seat roadsters to limousines.
Apologies for the spelling error; now please don’t kill me.
I totally understand. Those two cars come from a similar mindset that are totally different from anything else. All I can say is they aren’t my jam.
Agreed. If I had stupid money to spend on a Bugatti it would be this instead.
Also the lack of a limited slip diff in this model is a glaring omission. I want to like this car, but the options list propel the price into a strata that does not compare favorably to the competition. If it had superior performance to match the price differential, that would make it more compelling.
Fair enough. I would still probably prefer McClaren’s over them at any price for styling reasons and well, any other reason.
Car and Driver Specs say this:
I wish the Bugatti brand would be extended down to models that are attainable by .5% of the population like McClaren. Not that i can afford the cheapest McClaren either, but I could at least be interested in them. Obviously, this is not the marketing plan VAG has subscribed to for the marque.
This, or the black and blue image below, because Bugatti’s should be in Molsheim Blue:
All of what you said is true, but that is only the half of it. Our dependence on oil has and will continue to be the primary source of political and economic instability throughout the world. Oil producing countries use it as a weapon, without conscience or thought for the long term effects of such policies.
