Sadly it’s appropriate for Kotaku to cover this as twitch is a platform tied to gaming culture and many people like to use it and these asshats behaviour impacts the ecosystem. That said, it’s exactly why I’ll NEVER use twitch other than to watch friends.

No guarantee of “continuity”! That’s literally buying nothing. You could buy a car for the same price, though if worked like an NFT, you would wake up one day and find out that the engine disappeared.

Honestly, the fact that none of this stupid shit cracked five figures is encouraging.

A lot of money for something utterly worthless.

No dude, it’s not a “people with kids” thing it’s an “asshole taking off the mask” thing. I have plenty of friends with kids who managed to remain good people and still call out bullshit when they see it, boiling it down to the kids is a hand-wavy way to dismiss criticism.

Aw, bummer, I actually had been thinking I should try to get the last few achievements but... oh well.

The concept of taking a skin or item from one game to another (which is unlikely to ever happen anyway) doesn’t even slightly require blockchain technology, either. They are like “How cool would that be” when we can already do that with traditional things like, you know, keys and authentication servers.

Of course game developers won’t allow you to bring in a skin from another developer. Lose out on all that lootbox/item shop money? Hell no.

In order to draw someone into a scam, you need a face. Every Ponzi scheme needs someone charismatic or famous enough to launch it. If I walked up to you offering a bauble that has no value other than speculative, you’d laugh me off. If a well known person does it, you’d at least be more likely to listen to them.

Also, Troy subsequently indicated that he wouldn’t license HIS voice for an NFT. This is just taking advantage of people new in the industry.

It’s just a pump and dump scam.

So, are these audio clips that can be used across games and apps something only you can hear or that everyone can supposedly hear? For everyone to hear, wouldn’t they need to be on a server somewhere that’s connected to everything?

My roommate asked me when I thought unvaccinated people (that is, people who could get vaccinated and simply chose not to) could return to cons, like when there will be a place for them. I said, without missing a beat, never. Fuck ‘em. I mean certainly not as long as people are in hospitals sick and dying.

You're right. Kotaku failed to be MAGFest PR.

Wait, BCE’s defense was, “He didn’t ask us if they were Pokemon cards. He asked us if they were in good condition”? That’s some Twilight Zone genie shit.

Sure, most serious PC gamers primarily game on Windows. However, there are plenty of us who also use other platforms.

It is hard not to react to posts like this with pure rage, because people with your attitude have basically stolen two years of my life at this point. The USA has the highest number of infections and the highest number of deaths in the entire world, and we’re close to the highest number of deaths per capita. Yes, we

Buddy, maybe just leave your spit projector at home.
