Same, didn’t vote because what the hell do I know about these. $185K seem ridiculous for a weird old car with a Chrysler V8, but 1 of only 11 built and that interior looks like pure uncut opulence.

“Old German car, scary!” yeah yeah yeah. Everyone knows the selling price is just the entry point of old Mercedes ownership, but in this case the entry point is fair and that’s what we’re supposed to be voting on. NP

Have to give it up to GM engineers there, the passenger compartment seems almost undamaged.

I don’t think this qualifies as “something stupid.” It’s magnificent. Lincoln should’ve built this damn thing.

YES! Love the boxy ‘80s Town Cars. And if you find one in New Jersey you just know that trunk has had at least a few bodies in it.

There’s a week left for the auction, $25K is just the opening bid. 1 of 300, one of the rarest and most desirable Mustangs that’s not from the ‘60s with “Shelby” on the back. This will easily bring six figures before it’s over. And worth every penny.

So not only will California charge you for NOT driving your car, if you sell it to someone in a free state they’ll hunt that poor bastard down?

If you’re going to ask high-dollar then you better include pics of the interior. ND

Where’s the Craigslist link for the Town Car? I wanna see that hood.

The absolutely most stupid name ever applied to a car in the US market

God bless you, go for it!

But this isn’t Germany! Just sell them as Mercury Sierras. I loved this car in the ‘80s (when I couldn’t afford one) and it pisses me off how hard Ford fucked up with the whole “Merkur” thing

THANK you. I’m convinced this car would’ve done better if they sold it as a Mercury Sierra. But no, Ford’s marketing geniuses decided they needed to waste God knows how many millions of dollars setting up a new “Merkur” brand that just confused and annoyed Americans.

Not just difficult for Midwesterners, no American could wrap their tongue around “Merkur.” And slapping XR4Ti on as a model name just made it worse.

My mom also had an ‘86 New Yorker and can confirm it was a shit-bucket. Turbo seemed to work OK, but the digital dash did fail and dad hit the roof when the dealer said it was $800 to replace.

1980 Chevrolet Impala “Sport Coupe.” Dad being a frugal man, this thing was a stripper. Cloth seats, AM radio, it did have A/C but literally no other options. Which isn’t itself bad, but it had the 4.3 V8 and 3-speed auto and was dangerously slow. And being a silver GM car of the time the paint started falling off

You could carry this thing home in the back of that Land Cruiser.

This is new Corvette C8 money for a 12yo Audi. ND for that alone. Plus this guy seems like a jerk.

This would be a very nice $4K truck. Maybe $5K at most.

Exactly. $5,990 would maybe get me interested.
