Probably because mutual abuse is a highly complex thing that is often a response to abuse and because in mutual abuse cases with equal aggression women still suffer 70% of all injuries

I rewatch the Borgias on a regular basis and my god, sometimes he talks and I’m like THERE’S SCAR. Such a great voice.

35 years old and holding back tears *at work* once the “Simba ages” montage hit

Judging from the Jungle Book (which had the same director and the same tech) the answer to that question could go either way. I thought some of the animals were convincingly emotive while others didn’t because the features of some animals just don’t lend themselves as well to portraying complex facial expressions.

Can I just say HELLS YES to them having James Earl Jones do Mufasa again?? No one else would have EVER compared.

Now playing

They haven’t shown that in the trailers but if the Jungle Book remake (which was also directed by Jon Favreau) is anything to go by, then yes their mouths will move when they talk. This aspect was at times the least successful part of an otherwise technically astonishing movie, as some animals’ mouths just aren’t

Okay that 3d is insane. All of those artists deserve awards. My god the time it must have taken to get those textures just so.. it would give me nightmares.

Looks...pretty good? If a “live action” remake of an animated Disney film from my youth was going to be something I actually wanted to watch, it would be The Lion King. I’m perfectly fine with them remaking it for a new generation with the new tech available a quarter century later...but the animated one will

Honestly it’s on parents to break that fourth wall.

I thought Beyonce was Nala, not Sarabi.

Oh, man. Was not expecting to get chills from some of the shot-for-shot reproductions.

Ugh, I didn’t know about deaths in unregulated facilities, but I guess it makes sense—it’s why they have the rules in the first place. My mom has a licensed in-home preschool in MA, gets inspections, only allowed to have up to 6 kids alone, or up to 10 if there are two adults—which is how I knew how far off this

That did occur to me. My mom has a licensed in-home preschool, and she’s allowed to have 6 children by herself. She has fire drills and clearly marked maps for 2 exits posted. And her kids are all old enough to walk themselves (at least 3yo).

Oh hell no.

It was incredibly difficult to find childcare when we had baby entity. I’m not even talking quality childcare- just something- ANYTHING- that wasn’t $1600+ a month. We started searching about 5 months before we were going to need it. I could not believe the childcare situation was as bad as it was, until

Your acquaintance is an asshole because she is taking advantage of desperate parents.

That sounds like a mess, and I really feel sorry for those kids.

oh god that sounds horrible. i’m heartbroken for those children, and for the parents whose only option is this dangerous unlicensed daycare. i hope there is no additional abuse happening here, beyond the substandard care i mean. kids are going to have tantrums, how does she deal. what about diaper rash? feeding them?

That’s horrifying! What if there’s a fire? There’s no way one person could carry out 15 penned-in kids! Wow... I wouldn’t even leave my dog in that situation.

In my opinion its a hard nope. My mom was a licensed day care provider for 30+ years and ran it out of our home when I was growing up. Having seen her licensing process and how hard she worked to run a great business, I’d never leave my child in an unlicensed day care. There have been a lot of deaths in MA over the

We live in Boston, Massachusetts, in a walkable neighborhood to downtown Boston, so take with a grain of salt that things are knowingly expensive here. I have a 1.5 year old daughter and we pay $1,600 a month for her care, and that is literally the cheapest option we could find in downtown Boston. Most centers hover
