I’ve never been to an organized Slutwalk before, but I’ve seen pictures of the Portland one that happened quasi-recently and I bet this outfit would work well in that context in a tongue-in-cheek way.

This guy, however, gets it.

This is one of those things where my mind can’t fathom how an idea so stupid made it through so many different people without being caught.  Who thought of this and was like “yeah, this is going to sell well.  This is what we need.”

That’s my concern—that the first thing to go will be the “humane”-ness of the detention.

A woman who was terrorized her entire life by her parents and thus seeks out the same relationship model in a spouse. She stays because she knows she and her kids won’t make it out alive if she tries to leave.

There just isn’t the space to hold that many people right now and ICE would have to start releasing people on parole (so-called “catch and release”)

Also, don’t get yourself sent to a psych ward because once you’re on record as being hospitalized for psychiatric reasons, it can have a major impact on you later in life. Notably, if you ever want a security clearance, you’re probably boned. Other organizations might also be able to ask about that.
