Last month she performed a free concert in Toronto, to celebrate the unveiling of the holiday windows at The Bay (I think).

Honestly one of the things I like about this is the DIVA realness— like, I’m doing this for the money & I’m putting on an obvious show, but you’re not getting close. This is about “My Life,” not about my life.
One does not necessarily have to be born in the US to be a ‘natural-born citizen’ and therefore eligible for the presidency. Under the most popular definition, if one of your parents is a US citizen at the time of your birth, as Duckworth’s father was, and Ted Cruz’s mother was, you are natural-born.
Removing term limits would put the power in the pockets of lobbies, because the only way to get elected as a no-name is with lots of MONEY.
I don’t think you have to by physically born in the US, but rather have to be a natural-born citizen? I believe people with at least one US citizen parent who are born abroad are still eligible. (Like—Ted Cruz and John McCain?)
I know that not everyone here loves her (and this is not an invitation to tell me what you think of her...trust me, I’ve already heard it) but I’m genuinely a fan of HRC and am still just so sad that she didn’t win. Can’t care about Joe - or any other candidate - right now/yet. :(
As unsavory as people may find it, we have a need for professional politicians. One can’t breeze in and master Washington. It’s complicated, as running a country should be. I can see an argument for term limits for the House as it was designed to be the place where regular people could participate in government but…
count me in as thrilled to spend the next 4 years listening to bernie sanders supporters who hated neoliberalism jumping on the cory booker/joe biden neoliberal bandwagon, because neoliberalism is only crappy when women do it.
Hey! I actually voted for her in this past election. A ray of light in a dark world.
If you want an up and coming woman of color candidate, I think Tammy Duckworth could take us places.
I can’t believe he stole my presidential campaign slogan
He wouldn’t have saved us from anything. He’s a terrible campaigner and he does best as a politician when he’s not required to do any improving, and he literally has all of the same weaknesses Hillary does and few of her strengths, and the exact same politics. The man was called Senator Mastercard, for fuck’s sake.
I think it’s time to take you out back and end this. :(
I got internally huffy when I read her remarks in Shrill, but then I remembered what sort of comments used to show up on her posts. In fact, you can go back and look at them. I really can’t blame her. When I read student reviews, for example, the ones that really stick with me are the awful, nasty ones—the ones that…
I don’t know why more people don’t just use “alum.” It’s so much less fussy.
Seriously? Commenters ARE horrible quite a lot of the time—even here. Can you really blame her?
How long have you been carrying that chip on your shoulder? It seems heavy.
Also, assuming the tv show will be showing the more current parts of Lindy’s life, she is married to a black man and is stepmom to his daughter.
*Raises hand* Hey! I know this one... I just finished a mandatory sexual harrassment training class for my new job.
Every time I here about that movie I wonder if it’s this one or the James Spader car accident porn one. It’s never the James Spader.
