Arsenio show was the only place to see hip-hop on late night TV in the 90s. People may not get how huge that was back in the day.

Police in a Fox 11 report state that the intersection in question has a speed limit of 15 mph. They believe the Corvette tried to take the turn at more than 150 mph.

Goldstein is Russian, Moroccan and Brazilian. Also Jewish. But maybe not as problematic as one night consider, skin darkening aside. I also imagine it was difficult to find a trained actress who was also shredded up like a julienne salad back in the mid 80s...

Somebody said alien, she thought they said illegal alien and signed up”

He also mentions here (and in retrospect it feels like it should have been obvious) that if he had gotten the lead in The Matrix, they never would have cast Laurence Fishburne too. Apparently they were thinking Val Kilmer, which would would been a different, though not necessarily uninteresting, combination.

BoingBoing just posted this hilarious Abbott & Costello clip about age gaps.

Right- after a certain age, the gaps matter less (43 and 51? NBD). But 19 and 27 seems like two very different stages of life.

It would be funny if the Alien series was a police procedural with a good cop/man-eating cop dynamic.

i believe we already had this show and called it Alien Nation. where xenomorphs had to live side by side with humans and solve crimes.

I love sets that are puzzle boxes, so AVP does it for me.

Yeah, Tiddlywinks was a common enough game in the US in the 80s. We had a set, and I remember it pretty well. I don’t know how old Andrew Paul is, but I feel like many people who were born around that time would know it. People born after 2000 probably (definitely) won’t. But it was definitely “a thing” people knew

Yeah that’s such a strange take in this article.

I was born and raised in the good old US of A and I was definitely aware of Tiddlywinks. I couldn’t have told you what a Tiddlywinks piece looked like until I looked it up just now, but I knew it was some sort of children’s game.
