Given that Garland wrote 28 Days Later and the novel The Beach is based on, and that he’s collaborated with Boyle repeatedly (and presumably not by turning in a script and then never speaking again), I’m not so sure that there’s some never-filmed #GarlandCut that better reflects his vision. Also, Garland has directed

I watched it with my kids, and it was a good time for everyone, especially as a change up to normal kids entertainment.

Came to say the exact same thing about Evans in this.

I actually quite like the shift towards almost Event Horizon style Horror at the end... except that it feels a little rushed. I think they needed to do more to establish the feeling of being “locked in” with this man (this monster), perhaps by having more screens open to the sun so that the light itself became almost

Same. This was one of my favorite movies as a kid. I realized it wasn’t SW quality, but it was so messed up that I bonded to it. For a 9 yr old, the philosophical stuff seemed deep. I rewatched it where ever I could until I aged out, and by then even SW had ewoks.

This was the movie that made me a believer in Chris Evans’ talent. Before that, I had only seen The Perfect Score and Fantastic Four and was pretty nonplussed. He’s so good in this though, and then came Push and Scott Pilgrim and he just kept on going.

Oh I know, isn’t that the worst when it happens?  The last year I revisited a lot of old films, and it was a bummer when ones I adored as a kid turned out to not be that good.  And then it’s so wonderful when a film does stand the test of time.  I saw ET for the first time in easily 25 years, and that movie fucking

I returned to it recently, fearing my childhood memories wouldn’t hold up, but I really had a good time with it.

I’ve revisited it a couple of times in the past few years and it retained entertainment value for me.

It’s the smell.

Showing my age here, but you want to know what pilot I thought was nearly perfect?

I would agree with you on that - The Walking Dead isn’t in the same ballpark as a lot of other shows (especially these days, although it has rebounded some over the last year or so), but the pilot is SPECTACULAR.

The Lost pilot was pretty good.

I would say the Walking Deads pilot was pretty damn good.

yea i had to squint real hard to turn that Fi in to a Square looking A , perhaps vision quality plays a factor here to ?

On first glance I read it as Final Battle. Even after reading the article it took me a second to realize why you thought it was Anal Battle.

Maybe “vintage” blockbuster movies? Cause weren’t there reels still up til around 10 or so years ago?  I can see them try to smuggle old movies up to China cause the film industry is still highly regulated there.

Is death a contest? Lol

Nope, they actually had serious beef with each other’s beef
