In the non-snowy states, the mass adoption has only really been over the past few years. For better or worse, the CVTs seem to have basically eliminated the full-time AWD economy penalty, which honestly held a lot of people back (that, plus a spotty dealer network).

This is a good, positive take.

I love that Toyota is big enough that they can partner with other brands to keep fun cars in production.  It’s increasingly hard to make a business case for these ventures, but I’m glad they’re finding a way.

I lost my WRX wagon in Harvey, I sat on the insurance money for over a year trying to convince myself one of the new WRX sedans are just as appealing. They aren't, I bought something else, but at least weekly I mention missing my wagon. I'd buy another one TODAY if they made it.

Even worse, is that companies are kind of leaving the 2 door market; it just doesn’t sell as well as the 4 door counterpart. Golf/GTI/R, now only 4 door (in the US at least); 90%+ of Wranglers are 4 doors; good luck getting a single cab truck anymore from anyone (that isn’t a commercial model); 2 door Accord is

From that angle, it looks to me like the passenger is gonna have to lean to their right to avoid the center console.

I just rebuilt a manual trans a few weeks ago, and can say it was much, much simpler to fix than the automatic shown in the video seems to be. Then again, it was a four-speed toploader, so that’s not surprising.

The confidence with which that guy pulls that apart shows how many of that trans he has done. Dude is just so casual about items that most would be laying out on a giant table in perfect order like it is surgery.
