I waited tables for over 6 months and of the 20 or so people who “needed” the gluten free menu, only 2...TWO...said they had actually been medically diagnosed. I will take all the care in the world to make sure someone who is Celiac is protected, but when it’s one in ten...yeah.

The girl sitting next to me said, “Oh, I hope they have something gluten free.” I responded with “Oh, you have Celiac disease?” To which she replied, “No, I’m just kindof intolerant. Like if I eat gluten, I get bad heartburn.”
