The best part was the amount of beer drinking bros who left their seats in the middle of the race to go stand by the fence together and watch the cars burn for 30 minutes.. I mean who the hell ain’t gonna hustle on over to a free bonfire right?!

Now playing

I feel like these discussions highlight just how crazy the old Group C cars were around a circuit like Le Mans. Take the Sauber C9 for example. 1989 Le Mans qualifying this car set trap speeds of 247mph on the Mulsanne, yet produced circa 2000lbs of downforce at 150mph with the same Le Mans aero package.. These cars

This season has been a major improvement over seasons prior. IMO the aero package introduced this year has been a great step in the right direction, but there is still more work to do. I am not a Truex fan by any means, but I enjoyed the race last night. There doesn’t have to be a constant scrap for the lead, or a

So flying full tilt into an accident scene is the right thing to do? I’m not a professional racing driver, you’re right. However I still understand how all of this works. Am I wrong in saying that he should have known better and showed caution approaching the scene of an accident??

If you want an actual Sim, you won’t find it on a console. Both GT and Forza’s car physics are rather frustrating, unrealistic, and at times unpredictable as they don’t operate like a real car. If you want an absolute hardcore sim, I’d recommend rFactor 2. If you want a good sim with loads of easy to access online

Well for starters, I mentioned Cole Trickle because in the movie his idea of blazing through the accident scene nearly killed him and another racer. I am well aware of how real this all is.

Oh shit, is that Cole Trickle??!

Geoff Bodine’s at Daytona was about as bad as it gets for live TV..

That's exactly what he was doing. He said in an interview post race that he was making it a priority to save the tires in the first two sectors where overtaking was impossible, then give the car everything it had in the final chicane to maintain his position. This kid really is sensational.

For me it’s, “Oh, that’s the network that killed SPEED channel...”

This game, Nascar Racing 1999, and NFS Hot Pursuit III really gave my old Windows 98 pc one hell of a workout lol.

The only way I could ever see this happening is if Ferrari partnered with another defined luxury brand to begin selling merchandise. Even then I cant see it being successful as they hope. Ferrari in Europe sells merchandise in the same way NFL, NBA, etc. has teams sell theirs. They are a sports team, and F1 team. To

The interesting thing here is how they added other factors to the data set for fatality rate per billion miles like unemployment, young drivers, and per capita alcohol consumption. I would love to see the data set just showing the fatality rate per billion, which as stated is far lower than with lower speed limits.

I don’t see the problem with battery charging on hybrids.. All they would have to do is route the battery packs to the alternator on the current ICE, and let the car charge itself. I mean the whole point of the alternator is to charge the battery, so why not? If it can charge the battery, then it can charge the pack.

Unfortunately, this qualifying debacle had nothing to do with Qualifying. To me is was a classic example of a political battle for power and control. The original proposal for this qualifying in testing was solely due to pressure from the race promoters to bring more people to the track on Saturdays. The promoters are

I completely understand why NASCAR allows the cup guys in the lower series. Having your top drivers in the race makes it very easy to promote to sponsors and fans and offers a good control in determining the quality of competition. For the up and coming drivers, having the opportunity to race against guys like Kyle

I believe you are mistaken.. This was not an instance of engineering prowess, but rather blatant cheating. Several years ago Audi’s engineers developed a restrictor that met IMSA’s regulations, yet recovered lost power. At that time IMSA/Grand-Am discovered the modified part and had it immediately banned.
