Gotta be honest, I’m skeptical. The original was the very definition of the word “outrageous.”
Sam, stop trying. You’re a horrible writer and it’ll never improve.
The dishes are done, man.
“It’ll open the right doors. Also some of the wrong doors. Like cat-flaps, for example. You can’t use a cat-flap, but it’ll open up anyway.”
I'd sign up for this. It reminds me how people thought that movie Life would be a stealth prequel to Venom, when instead Life was a terrible movie with no reason to exist at all.
Calling it now. This is the fourth Nolan Batman universe film.
Pattinson has been doing a lot of really good work for awhile. My only (slight) worry is that I’m concerned he hasn’t bulked up enough to pull off the physical aspects of the character. But that’s a relatively small worry. This is definitely my most anticipated movie in development.
Without Uncle Deadly it would have been distinctly average muppet-fare. With him, it was well worth watching. (And that’s not the first time I’ve said that.)
I liked it a lot. People got super-pissed about Kermit having a different pig girlfriend. They all appreciated the Muppets on a deeper level than us.
I’m fascinated (and a bit delighted) by how many people came to the AV Club today to defend the record and reputation of Peter III. There is certainly nothing wrong with passionately debating the merits of a long-dead Russian monarch, but I just wasn’t expecting to run into it here.
“Mother! You’re alive!”
“I feel kind of...invincible. Is it hot in here or is it just me?”
Very interesting.
It further adds to the idea that written by George but adapted and directed by a more competent team, the prequels could have been the films we wanted.
I saw Batman Returns at a formative age, which served to establish Michelle Pfeiffer as an absolute dream girl and set the reveal of Bruce and Selina’s alter egos via a repetition of an earlier exchange as the ne plus ultra of dance scenes that involve pivotal dialogue:
I agree with your points, but I think you’re shortchanging Ewan McGregor’s Obi Wan. He thought he brought just the right mix of humor and gravitas to the prequels.
Yall leaving is really wearing down on me. Gonna have to follow you and the others on twitter and whatnot. Kotaku one stop shop for the, most part, no more.
You will be missed. Always loved your Twitch sessions and long-form stuff. Best of luck.
Now that pretty much the entire game industry is delayed your work here is done.
