I believe the hate against it not having a 3-door version is because even though there were four doors for every generation except the one we got as the RSX, they are using the Integra name to strike a nostalgia cord among millenials who grew up with the car. And those who had them when they were younger and had

In 1997 an Integra Type-R was 24K, and ran a 15.0 1/4 mile

this car doesnt share a single body panel with the civic. please tell me how its a civic with a nose job. you think the civic taillights would fit where those taillights go? the doors arent even the same.

the mustang and camaro have improved dramatically compared to cars like the VW GTI and Civic.

Honestly i think the best way to look at it is as a faster civic sport touring with the 6 speed, which makes it a compelling choice.  A couple grand more for 20+ more hp and a nice place to be when you are behind the wheel.

The Integra was always a slightly heavier, upgraded Civic. Sure, the old Integra was lighter than the new one...because ALL cars were lighter 20 years ago.

Finding a stock one has got to be nigh on impossible, too. Most of my buddies that have/had Evos went ballistic on them immediately. One of them built his out to be a drag racer and got into the 11s with it before something went wrong with his transmission. It’s been collecting dust in his garage for years now because

Coworker had one. I bought a 2004 GTO. They were both fast. But Evo was scary. Going the same speed on highway, it felt like you could die at any moment in Evo.

First-gen Integra had the same engine as the Civic SI of the day — the 1.6. It even had the same seats, though in a different colour (mine were a fetching brown).

So, a ‘94 Integra GS-R was about $20k (sourced from a C&D long term test), did 0-60 in about 7 seconds, and was by their account, fantastic to drive, buzzy at 85mph. Meanwhile, a contemporary Mustang GT was a few grand cheaper, did 0-60 in 6.1 seconds. With a new Mustang GT starting at $36k or so, and $40k for the

That’s where I’m at with this. People here complain there aren’t any more manuals, or hatchbacks/liftbacks, or cars in fun colors. This has all of those things. It’s not going to be the Acura you remember from the past. It was never going to be. Did anyone really expect it to be? It’s hard to “channel” a car of the

They probably decided not to offer an Si hatch to make room for the Integra

What’s wrong is that this is what the Jalopnik commentariat has devolved into. We all used to be car fans but now all we do is bitch every time a company brings back an old concept because we think it can’t possibly recapture the magic we remember seeing through the rose-colored lenses of our youth. Not that it

There was a 4 door in every generation of Integra. Only the RSX was coupe only.

Hang on now, the OG Integra wasn’t Honda’s take on the Miata, something impossibly pure and enthusiast driven - it was a Civic for people who wanted a BMW 3-Series, but couldn’t quite afford a BMW, and in making a good economy car almost competitive with a good sports sedan, they still made a pretty great car. We

I cannot fault this, because, in some ways, Lan-Evos, particularly VIII, are the coolest car that you can daily without reservation.

Thanks for calling out the unnecessary hate. It will be a fine car, well built, and fun in an era of bland greyscale crossovers.

I feel your pain. I remember the days of $8K FD RX-7s.

10 years ago you could scoop these things up for $15k or less in my area, and they were a dime a dozen. I live in Delaware which is tiny, and I knew of eight different people who had Evos that came to the meets, and I’d see them left and right when driving around.

Is this the part where I make myself feel old because I remember when decent examples of these were ~$20,000?
