“ If only you had told me I could have ordered from you.”?

Sounds like she needs to tell her sales folks that customers can actually purchase what they want, even if it means having to take the extra ten minutes to write up an order.

The dealer prints you something regarding your order and you don’t suspect it to be used against you as a gotcha later. If you can’t trust the dealer before the sale, you sure as hell won’t be able to trust them after the sale.

The last 3 cars I bought were all verbal agreement and nothing changed at purchase. Ford

A few years ago I ordered a Ram 1500 Ecodiesel to all my preferred specs. It arrived, and right before we signed the paperwork I noticed they added a $150 nitrogen filled tire fee and told me it’s part of their mandatory dealer prep. A.) That is fucking absurd, and B.) the truck literally had just been rolled off the

I *so* hope you stopped back at the first dealership just to F with them!

Right. Treat a car dealer like they'll scam you any way they can, because they will. Got it.

If you live in a jurisdiction where the vendor can print out a form with a price and get you to sign it, then the vendor later says “lol nope, we increased the cost, and since the new costs aren’t on the form you signed, you don’t have any consumer rights”, then maybe that jurisdiction needs better consumer-protection

Being someone that has never ordered a car, I wouldn’t have known this is a thing on an order. I have bought lots of cars (50-60ish so far), but only a few new cars. I know all the tricks/etc dealers will play to get more of your money.

What I didnt know is that on an order like this, that you could get a signed

Ok, now I’m curious. After you ordered the car, why did you need to have an ongoing relationship with the sales guy?

Um, that’s already been addressed, but you knew that, didn’t you.

It’s great to hear that there’s some good dealers out there. I hope you drive by that BS dealer every day and honk while driving by.

Having to apologize and getting nothing in return usually means you were in the wrong.

no it doesn’t, it just means they know they can poke some other dummy with the extra disposable income to over pay on a bronco that will be everywhere on lots in a year or 2.

100% this. How much future business did they flush down the toilet in order to get +/-$10k upfront? It’s insane, yet it happens all the time.

could care less how big of a dick dude was. Ford issued orders DO NOT MARK UP RESERVATIONS and what do they do?

They broke the rules. So FUCK EM. Dealer got off too easy. Fuckin cheaters.

I tried to order an in demand Wrangler late last year. The local dealer gave a verbal agreement over the phone of “sticker price plus fees”. I asked about the fees on the phone and they seemed normal. I made an appointment to custom order the car. I went into the dealer knowing exactly what I wanted. When we got to

So like Tesla and their solar roofs where they marked them up on people even after having signed agreements? Or like Tesla and direct sales of cars where everyone pays sticker and not like traditional sales where 90% of cars are sold at a discount?

Obviously these type of dealership do not believe in long term relationship. They will be the first one to cry over direct selling model like Tesla, which hopefully become more popular down the road.

Yep, I know that I’ll probably get my reservation filled at a later date than most everyone else since I went with the small dealer in WV.

The DMV should suspend that dealer’s license

Asked my sales guy yesterday about this. Said they sell at MSRP and usually don’t get anything in writing, but could get something in writing if I wanted.
