“Edwards was told the footage hadn’t really been looked through in a while because it wasn’t digitized,”
The digital restoration is what made it high quality. Edwards had a few seconds digitally restored. The old footage is whats in bad shape. There could still be a good original movie created from the restored

Wait, isn’t the bigger story here that original negatives of high quality still exist and are in a usable form? Wasn’t the old line that the original negatives had deteriorated so badly that the special editions are now the true legacy now bunk?

Which is something I wanted them to use for young Tony Stark (and I guess young John Cusack in Hot Tub Time Machine). That guy is one of the few people on Earth that has dozens of hours of movie quality footage of his young face that doesn’t really need CGI youngface.

i found tarkin to be entirely and amazingly acceptable to the point of wtfing over and over in his scenes, but leia to be somewhat dollish. neither took anything away from my enjoyment of this spectacular film.

During the Clone Wars, Saw was trained to fight battle droids by Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano and Capt. Rex.

Sadly, Agents of SHIELD seems to have been getting a really isolated treatment lately. For a show that pioneered tying to closely into a movie, it’s a damn shame.

In the trailers there were entire scenes where Jyn and Cassian and the team are racing across the beach, clearly towards rescue. That’s one of the sequences they cut out and replaced with the new ending of heading up the tower and subsequently having no means of rescue.

I’ve seen Felicity Jones in two movies these past two months: Inferno and Rogue One. I’m more confident that Daisy Ridley will have a bigger career. I did not see Theory of Everything, so can’t comment on that.

The obvious explanation? Jynn survived at the end until the reshoots, which might also explain that now-vanished scene of Jynn confronting a mysterious tie fighter atop the Scarif transmitter.

You do know, that most people disagree with you on Star wars? The sequels made billions, and created two successful animated properties. Continue to have your ass hat beliefs, but Rogue One is bad fan fiction compared to TFA.

Why would she have to have her own movie? She could show up in another movie in the past. If there is a Ashoka movie or even the Han Solo movie she could show up as a cameo or secondary character.

I feel like that lady who we saw at the very end on the ship will go far.

Remember when the think pieces on io9 were actually good? And actual think pieces?

If I’m honest, this complaint feels so broad as to be effectively meaningless.

It’s Trendacosta. She’s bitching about whitey.

If I’m honest, this complaint feels so broad as to be effectively meaningless. You’re annoyed that a lot of stories’ protagonists are kind of bad? That’s not exactly a bold or innovative claim to make; it’s just recognising that Sturgeon’s Law is a thing.

Joel from The Last of Us was a good example of protagonist done right, in my opinion. Sure it was pretty obvious for a bit where the story was going with the whole daughter/Ellie thing but the extreme lengths he went through to save her at the end and then have the audacity to lie about it made him both likable and

This article should be titled “Protagonists Suck in the 21st Century”. This wasn’t always a problem. Indiana Jones, Snake Plisken, Shaft... I mean, it’s the storytelling that has become bland and predictable. Wonder Woman, Lara Croft, Samus Aran. Just to name a couple female protagonists who kick ass.

Think about it. What is AIDAs prime directive? Be a decoy to protect the team.

You should probably reserve your shitty judgement unless you’ve actually watched bc you’d know the elaborate answer to that.
